The point where your ray intersects the obstacles, assuming they are square blocks like in your illustration. You can use this to construct an overlay of what your tank can see, if you like. There are some further optimization you can do to make the overlay nice and sharp, but this is good enough for now.
Btw, since when were you planning to make it 3D? This is the first I've heard of it.
