Technically, they're just saying certain people go to hell in a retarded manner, they're not saying anything about hell itself.

But yeah, according to what the apparition at Fatima showed the three kids Purgatory(which is supposed to be temporary hell, or not as bad) is a bunch of weird people floating in a red haze or some shit, but it's really fucking terrifying. We don't know what hell is, just that it's very very bad.
