No its completely different. My brain might change every time I have a new thought but my consciousness is still me. Uploading my brain to a computer would be like moving files from a computer to a jumpdrive, It looks like its moving but in reality its making a new copy of the file and deleting the original. Uploading your brain to a computer will kill your counciousness and leave an exact copy of a new conciousness.
No it's not different at all. When you change, you're no longer what you were. What you were dies. Your consciousness in one instant is different from your consciousness in the next. A straight line on another plane is a point, on yet another plane, it's a different point. Even though your brain is constantly changing, a continuum, if you pause it and start it again, you'd be the same person. It would be the same as that, just that your mind would be in a computer rather than a brain.

Yes if everybody could upload their minds to cyberspace that would be great, totally wouldn't be abused.
