The Liberation Class Dropship
Spoiler:
Image

The Liberation Class Dropship is the primary way of getting Confederate Standard Containers (CSCs) to and from the surface of any given planet. Able to lift-off 2 CSCs from planet to transport or vice-versa, it also comes with a shield generator for combat insertions. While it is fast while not carrying cargo, the Liberation Class Dropship is not FTL capable and thus, needs to either already be on-site or be transported to the location by another ship.

Retort Class Pinnace
Spoiler:
Class: Retort
Type: Pinnace
Dimensions: L = 25 m, W = 11 m, H = 7 m
Main Weapon: One 100/10 Mark IV Mod 2 STS Rail Gun
Role: Patrolling In-System, Flanking

Description: The Retort Class Pinnace is a product of the Terran Insurrection. At that time, the Terran Trade Confederation (back then, the Terran Trade Company) only had the Talon Class Pinnace. While this was sufficient for in-system defense, it left the Company fleet strongly ineffective on the offensive. This was because the Talon's irregular dimensions (35x13x9) only allowed for a maximum of 16 pinnaces to be transported to battle by one Liberty Class Freighter! To fix this, the Company comissioned Starscream Poweryahts (a Company subsidiary that usually produces high-performance poweryahts for affluent yaht-racing clubs) to design the Retort Class Pinnace. They did not disappoint. The Retort features the best small, high-performance engine that Starscream could build; which powers four, compact racing-thrusters, a small sensor suite, a one-man life support filter, and its only weapon: the Mark IV Rail Gun. All of this sheathed in a light armor carapice and still measuring only 25x11x7! Because of these dimensions, six Retorts can fit within a 25x25x25 meter carrier module, allowing for a Liberty Class Freighter to carry ninety-six Retorts to battle!

Retaliation Class Corvette
Spoiler:
Class: Retaliation
Type: Corvette
Dimensions: L = 91 m, W = 25 m, H = 23 m
Main Weapons: Two 100/8 Mark II Mod 0 STS Guns
Secondary Weapons: Eight 50/5 Mark III Mod 1 AA Guns
Role: Patrolling, Light Escort, Flank Protection

Description: The first warship of the Terran Trade Confederation, the Retaliation is a product of The Fall. In the opening years of The Fall, when the Imperial fleets began withdrawing from the Outer Systems and piracy was on the rise, the Terran Trade Company decided to stop relying on infrequent Imperial patrols take measures to defend itself. The pirates, allows a problem for the “less important” outlying provinces, were becoming bolder with each year. They had begun building small flotillas of fighters and pinnaces and then started waylaying whole convoys of unprotected trade ships!

This had to stop. In response to both the increased attacks and the Empire’s refusal to make any decisive reply, the Terran Trade Company decided to build a warship capable of defending its convoys. That ship was the Retaliation class corvette. It was not very remarkable, having eight 50/5 Mark III Mod 1 anti-air guns for dealing with the pirate fighters and pinnaces and only two 100/8 Mark II Mod 0 ship-to-ship guns for anything larger. It also had light armor and a modest shield emitter. What was astonishing about this ship was that it was the first non-Imperial warship to dare to include an FTL drive!

This was a risky move, because up until then, the Imperial Fleet was the sole protector within the borders of the Empire and no one knew how it would react to such a large entity as the Company building warships. Luckily for the Company, the short-sighted Empire just reacted by placing a tariff on all imported cargo into the receding Imperial territory. This allowed the Company to make a killing, despite the tariff, as it expanded its newly protected trading fleets into territory that had been abandoned by smaller, unprotected trading companies!
The Retaliation is one of the pinnacle ships that helped make TTC what it is today!

I just started laughing when I saw the arms on the side going down, and then the huge mech in the container, I don't know it really appealed to me.

Dropship looks pretty good, although it seems a bit small to be carrying those huge boxes.

I kind of agree, but it looks fine as it is and it's not really the most important build, so I'm going to leave it alone and move on. /:|

Repercussion Class Missile Frigate
Spoiler:
Class: Repercussion
Type: Missile Frigate/Long Range Destroyer
Dimensions: L = 142 m, W = 63 m, H = 41 m
Main Weapons: Eighty-Eight Mark I Mod 3 Missile Launch Tubes
Secondary Weapons: Two Mark I Mod 1 50/11 AA Twin Rail Guns
Role: Fleet Fire Support, Destroying Heavily Defended Targets

Description: The Repercussion class was commissioned at the tail end of the Tarren Insurrection. The Imperial Fleet had finally gotten around the TTC's heavy use of pinnaces and hit-and-run tactics by producing the much feared Subjugation class heavy crusier. The Subjugation was slow and only moderately armed, but so heavily shielded and armored that it took the concentrated firepower of a dozen Reprisal class destroyers to penetrate its defenses! While this ship was a huge cost in resources to the Empire, it was very easy to produce once the resources were gathered, and once they proved their success, the Empire threw its entire economy behind producing a fleet of these monsters! Within the year, the Empire had produced over a hundred of them [the exact numbers are impossible to determine as all Imperial Records were lost during The Purge], and had least one hundred and fifty more commissioned and in various states of completion, all at a crippling cost to the Empire.
The TTC's admiralty were shocked by the Empire's sudden onslaught and the recklessness with which they produced their expensive new ships. The Subjugation class' very name struck fear in the hearts of all the Confederation. However, the Subjugation did have one weakness that the Admiralty hoped to exploit: it was slow. Because the Subjugation was so heavily armored, it could only accelerate at a fraction of the speed of the average warship. This was offset, of course, by the very same armor that slowed it down. The TTC's lightly armored (and much quicker) pinnaces and destroyers barely even scratched the surface of the heavy cruisers before they had to retreat or be destroyed. The TTC needed a different kind of destroyer, and it needed soon!
Many of the older members of the admiralty demanded an even heavier ship be built, to beat the Subjugation class at its own game. This however, was rejected because the Confederation had neither the time nor the resources to undertake such a demand. They needed a quick and cheep solution to counter the Empire's heavy cruiser. When a young officer suggested missiles, they latched onto the idea with the desperation and vigor of an animal backed into a corner! Within days the plans for the Repercussion were drawn up. The schematics used the same chassis as the Reprisal class, removed the MAC cannon, replaced the defense wings with two large missile pods, and expanded the engines to include two more thrusters to compensate for the extra mass of the missile pods. It was a very simple design and, because of the already existing Reprisal shipyards, was very simple to implement. Within a month, the first Repercussions accelerated out of the shipyards. But had they come too late?
At this point, the Empire undertook a massive offensive against the TTC's entire front. The inadiquate TTC defenses fled before the onslaught, those that didn't were crushed by the Empire's armored fist of heavy cruisers! The Empire, emboldened by it unquestionable success, pressed further into TTC space.
The TTC Admiralty ordered all the main elements of its fleet back to Planet Ariel to make a final stand, leaving the Marines on the planets and a small force of pinnaces and corvettes to defend the intervening colonies. The heroes that stayed behind pestered the Impirial fleet to such a degree, that the Empire bacame enraged. The Imperial fleet stayed at each colony long enough to eradicate every last vestige of resistance; buying the Confederacy some much needed time to produce more missile boats.
By the time the Empire gathered its forces to crush the fleet gathered at Ariel, they had nearly a hundred and fifty Subjugation class heavy cruisers. Including their carriers and other support vessels, the Imperial fleet numbered close to two hundred and thirty warships!
On the other side, the terrified Confederation navy had only been able to produce fifty-seven, as-yet untested, Repercussion class destroyers. As the Confederation had stripped their entire defenses to make it, their fleet also included five Inquistion class light carriers, twenty-three Interrogation class light cruisers, one hundred forty-three Reprisal class light destroyers, seventy-two Retaliation Class corvettes, and hundreds of pinnaces and fighters; all of them ineffective at harming the bulk of the Imperial fleet!
As the invading fleet descended upon Ariel, nearly two-thirds of the Confederate fleet scattered, fleeing past the Imperial fleet. Emboldened to overconfidence, the Imperial fleet ignored the retreating ships and advanced on the remaining Confederates determined to crush them before they too could flee.
But as they closed on the defenders, the battlefield broke out into utter chaos. Thousands of missiles lanced across the gap, overwhelming their sensors and shattering their defenses. The first barrage overloaded nearly every shield along the Imperial front line, the second crippled their hulls, the third sent the Empire fleeing in terror! But as they turned to run, their escape was cut off by the Confederation fleet coelesing behind their lines. The fleeing Confedrate ships turned formed an anvil for the Repercussions to pound the routed Imperial invasion fleet into oblivion. When the fighting ended, only nine Imperial ships had escaped to report the Dissaster of Ariel.
Meanwhile, the Empire was still committed to producing hundreds of expensive ships to throw against an enemy they now knew had the perfect counter to them! All said and done, the Repercussion is the ship that bankrupt the Empire.

Reprisal Class Frigate
Spoiler:
Class: Reprisal
Type: Frigate
Dimensions: L = 142 m, W = 33 m, H = 41 m
Main Weapons: Two 100/13 Mark I Mod 0 STS Guns, One 300/9 Mark I Mod 0 Fixed Light Gauss Cannon
Secondary Weapons: Eight 50/7 Mark II Mod 3 AA Guns
Role: Patrolling, Medium Escort, Flanking

Description: The second warship to be commissioned by the Terran Trade Confederation (then the Terran Trade Company), the Reprisal is a well-rounded light frigate. The circumstances of its commission are well known. The Fall was well into its middle stages, the Imperial Fleet had completely abandoned all but Central Systems, and pirates had become bolder than ever. Somehow, a few larger pirate bands had cobbled together a few light cruisers, and even more astonishing, had gotten a hold of several decommissioned Imperial frigates [many historians believe that these came from corrupt officials and officers who were discreetly funding the pirates for a hefty cut of their profits],and had begun terrorizing the now insufficiently protected trading convoys of the TTC and other companies like it.

The Company was then faced with a complicated problem, on one hand, the Empire both refused to protect their convoys and restricted the size of non-Imperial warships, and on the other, both the Empire and the TTC relied on the steady inflow of trade goods from the Outer Systems. The Company needed a ship that could fight off older (but larger) ships and still be within the Empire’s size restrictions. The result was the original Reprisal class frigate. It had two ship-to-ship guns and a small, fixed MAC cannon for dealing with the older decommissioned frigates, and was nimble enough to outmanuaver slower, yet more heavily armed heaps that the pirates claimed were battleships but were more accurately classified as small light cruisers.

It was the perfect ship for the restrictions set for it, however, in spite of the success of the Reprisal {or more likely because of it] many key officials within the Empire [the same ones who would lose on their investments in the pirates] urged the Emperor to penalize the TTC for “building a fleet to threaten the Empire.” The Emperor leveled a new, impossibly high, tariff on all Terran trade. When the Terrans were unable to pay, the Empire sent a fleet to occupy the Terran homeworld. This, of course set led to the Terran Insurrection and, eventually, the Terran Trade Confederation.

While the Reprisal class frigate has received many refits over the years since its first commission, it has remained a staple of Terran power and protection.
