Nothing new yet just moved my ship list from the prev forum :)

Again for the textures I use a heavily modified Star Treck pack from Plaff656. I combined it with a Star wars pack (don't remember who made it) and some textures of my own .




Here is a link to the current map version (V1.3) . As always I keep there some surpirses I haven't wrote about here yet. Feel free to add interiors to the ships I missed and I might add them to the map :) .

SHIP SUMMERY :

UTFg Glorious

This small frigate has 3 main and 2 secondary engines, designed for speed. The Glorious is a perfect strike weapon, usually used in hit and run tactics. The Glorious carries 1 forward plasma cannon, 3 heavy laser cannons and 4 forward torpedo tubes, capable of launching different kinds of munition. The Glorious is operated by a small crew of 36 soldiers.

UTFg Phantom

The UTF Phantom is the standard issue capital ship for SOF (Special Operations Fleet). This well equiped frigate was designed for performing long covart assignments behind enemy lines and serving as a remote base of operations for the SOF units in the area. With a crew of 72, the frigate doesn't require a lot of resources in his operations. The Phantom's stealthy design allows it to avoid long range sensors even while moving, while it's powerful cloak field generator protects it against short range targets, rendering it invisible even when 10 meters from the target. Even the ship's weapons are hidden inside the ship when not used to reduce detection.The phantom's large cargo bay allows to hold supplies for 3 weeks away from any allied ship. One of it's notable attributes is it's hangar bay, capable of holding up to 6 fighters. The phantom is also well armed, including 2 forward plasma cannons, 6 laser turrets, a torpedo launcher with 8 tubes and a laserflack system with 16 turrets. The phantom's laser cannons can be easily converted into anti-subsystem weapons. By changing the focusing lense , the operator concentrates the laser beam , making it more powerful, but reducing it's effective range. Those weapons can effectively destroy enemy cores, engines, weapons, comm units and sensor arrays.

The phantom can also carry the UTT Bee
UTT Bee

The bee is a small personnel transport, capable of transporting up to 12 people. It was primarly designed for boarding hostile ships. The bee attaches itself to it's target with it's arms, located on the sides of the ship. After that the crew activates the drilling system, making a man sized hole in the enemy's hull (my drilling equipment is actually a TNT :D ). Besides it's main use, the bee can be equiped to perform other tasks such as repairing hulls , transporting valuable cargo and mining asteroids.

UTFg Guardian

As more of the United Terran Navy Transport ships were commissioned for front line operations, the union needed a new kind of ship , capable of protecting convoys with superior firepower. And so the UTFg Guardian was created.
As it's name tells, the UTFg Guardian is designed to cover convoys of transports from both bombers and Frigates. With one relativeley weak engine, the Guardian cannot perform fast strikes well, though what it lacks in speed it more than makes in armor and firepower. It's 6 heavy laser turrets and 2 Heavy Plasma cannons provide anti-capital ship cover in all directions and it's threatning 24 laserflack turrets can pounder any bomber in it's vicinity. Though the ship carries much more firepower than the Glorious strike frigate, it's firepower is spread along the ship's hull making it less efficient against big targets. Besides escort missions , the Guardian is also used to break enemy formations by jumping in a middle of enemy frigate/ fighter formation, inflicting damage to all surrounding ships and jumping out. It's powerful armor allows it to withstand attacks from the strike frigate's rear turrets while the cannons spread along the ship can target multiple ships and inflict massive damage to the whole formation, forcing it to break in order to engage the enemy.

UTT Pharos

The UTT Pharos is a medium sized transport. It's powerful engine allows it to carry a lot of cargo of different kinds. The ship doesn't transfer cargo in it's cargo bay, but in special containers designed for different cargo, which allows high adaptability for different missions, even transporting disabled cruisers. It's militray version includes 16 laserflack turrets, which provide a powerful anti-fighter screen around the ship. The ship has 4 robotic arms on each side of the ship that can attach to different cargo containers. The most common TCP 3 which transports dry resources in its big hull .

SFg Rajun
Spoiler:
This shivan frigate designated Rajun was first encountered by the SOF During the second shivan invation. The purpose of the ship remains a mistery, for now this ship was only encountered behind the enemy lines. This frigate carries superior firepower with it's 4 main beam cannons, has a powerful hull and shielding and a medium engine, which leads us to belive it's used to wipe out convoys. It has a small fighter bay, capable of holding up to 4 shivan fighters. It has relatively weak anti fighter defence, with only 10 flack turrets. The ship's crew numbers, effective movement range and sensor range remain unknown. It has 3 different reactors that are extremely reactive. Destroying them in a short period of time will result energy system overflow and detonate the ship. The purpose of those reactors have ben classified level Rho and is protected by Deneb convention , section 41-35 .

UTD Hyperion

There is no better symbol of Terran power than an UTD Hyperion leading the Terran fleet. Those magnificent ships serve as fleet capital ships, providing their fleets with all necessary support starting with it's fighter wings , ending with it's pure firepower . The ship reaches 470m length and hosts thousands of crew members on board. Though the ship isn't fast or manoeuvrable, it carries superior firepower. With 24 heavy plasma cannons, it's torpedo 3 bays and it's prime forward plasma cannon the Hyperion can powder any cruiser in less then 30 seconds. It's fighter bay can hold up to 44 active fighters at a time (it's full 11 wings !) and many more in it's cargo bay. Using the new construction module, the ship can storage the fighters' parts and reconstruct them from those in less then 2 minutes. The ship was designed with long travels in mind, providing enough supply for months of travel and some other elements such as shops, computer rooms, bars , gyms etc. to provide the crew with all things necessary both physically and mentally.

THE FOLLOWING IS CLASSIFIED LEVEL OMEGA, UNAUTHORISED ACCESS IS PUNISHABLE BY DEATH UNDER THE UTF SECURITY ACT.

In 2335, during a recon mission in N367 system , the SOF frigate UTF Ares discovered a debris field with unique energy outputs. Closer investigation has revealed remnants of an ancient alien ship, approximately 5000 years old. Long range scans have revealed other fields with similar energy outputs. The SOF research team which started to investigate the ships have discovered that some of those ships were still operational . The SOF collected those ships and transported them to the SOF HQ, the rest of the ships were destroyed. The SOF research team have studied the ships for 4 years and in 2339 the UTF High Command has decided to put those ships in use, the GIGAS project was born. The GIGA's role is to implement the new alien technology in the Union fleet and suit the alien ships for terran use. The project is still in progress to this day with only one ship out of three fully operational.

All alien ships that were found belonged to the same class. Terran engineers worked hard to unite terran and alien technology to create the UTJ Arbiter .The Arbiter is the biggest terran ship ever constructed. With a length of 434 blocks , the Arbiter is twice as big as the Hyperion class. It carries 30 active wings at once (120 fighters) and still reaches a speed slightly bigger than the hyperion's . The ship's original hull can stop many projectiles and even partially absorb energetic weapons. This hull is built from a cristal-like material. The lack of connecting parts and different stitches lead us to belive that the hull was created as one, probably grown from the cristal-like material. Another notable fact is the hull's ability to transport and manipulate energy. The hull acts as one big energy matrix , focusing the energy in different locations to create different effects such as shields and cloak fields. There is a high probablity that the hull itself can be used as a gigantic weapon, scientists cannot recreate this effect though.
The ship carries both terran and alien weaponry: 2 terran torpedo launchers, 13 terran heavy plasma cannons and 21 alien cannons. The alien cannons consist of more focused cristal energy matrixes that create a powerful beam that cuts through the enemy ship. This weapon seems to be quite effective against terran hulls. The ship also has a large reserch center on board to asist the crew with the ship abd to continue the the reserch of the alien technology.

The GIGAS project doesn't only work with the alien technology. During this project our xenologists are trying to translate and understand their runes. Those runes are what gave the project it's name and another important but secret role : From the runes we have translated by now, it is clear that the aliens have another big ship. The ship is described as huge in comparison to the alien ships which are big already. Untill more information is uncovered the ship is designated Gigas .
SSD Lucifer
Spoiler:
The SSD Lucifer is one of the greatest threats to the survival of the Terrans and any other species known to us. It wields four massive beam cannons which can destroy one of our capital ships in a few hits. Two of these same cannons have been bombarding colonized worlds, annihilating many species in the last ten thousand years. With four full fighter squadrons and a massive array of defensive turrets, the Lucifer would be extremely difficult to destroy in a normal situation. The fact that it is protected by a sheath shielding system which makes it completely impervious to any kind of kinetic or plasma damage makes it impossible to destroy. We have yet to find a way to breach this shielding technology. It is hoped that a solution will be found soon.
It is now known that just like terran shields, shivan shield systems don't work in subspace. It is also known that the lucifer is powered by 5 reactors spread across the hull. If those reactors are destroyed simultaneously , the ship will be destroyed. Based on this knowledge, the original Lucifer was destroyed by terran forces in the subspace corridor between Sol and Delta-Serpentis.

To this point there was only one sighted lucifer class destroyer.

UTT Yasur
Spoiler:
The UTT Yasur is a multi-purpose ship. It can act as a repair ship, goods transporter, asteroid miner, construction ship, marine transport . tow-boat and many other things, depending on it's equipment. Though it is seen on front line operation , the Yasur was and is a civilian ship. It's armor is relatively weak and almost no armament is present. This ship is usually used for mining .

UTG Mincar
Spoiler:
The UTG Mincar was designed for mining operations in asteroid belts. The Mincar surves as a dock for Yasur class miners that excavate the asteroids around it. The Mincar can host up to 8 Yasurss at once and serve up to 16 active ones. The Mincar also possesses a small refinery to supperate useful minirals from useless ones abd reduce storge space. The Mincar can also storge big amounts of materials and transport them to other transport ships. Just like the Yasur, the mincar is a civilian vessel and poorly protected. It possesses 8 flack turrets and thin armor around important systems.

UTD Raynor

The UTD Raynor was designed with only one thought in mind - raw power. with 520 m filled with plasma turrets, torpedo launchers and beam cannons, the Raynor can take out almost any foe of it's size and even above at any range. It's 220 m long prime HPL cannon can destroy enemy ships at a distance of up to 10 km. It's 2 6 tube torpedo launchers with magnetic accelerators provide the torpedo an extra bust reducing travel time and increasing distance. If the foe decides to flank the Raynor it possesses 2 heavy beam cannons on each side of the ship capable of 200º engagement radius on each side of the ship giving full 360º together. The ship also carries 40 plasma cannons and a fighter bay. Besides the heavy weaponry the ship also possesses heavy shielding with heavy armor plating twice the size of a ship of it's class and a powerful shield generator capable of deploying large shields to provide cover to friendly fleets. Though being superior to the Hyperion in combat capabilities , the Raynor possesses less versatility than the Hyperion. It's engines are weaker, it's jump drives require more time to recharge and the fighter bay is much smaller. The Raynor's heavy armor makes it much more expansive. It's slower deployment does not allow the Raynor to command fleets effectively which leaves the Hyperion the role of the capital ship in terran fleets.

UTCr Liberty
Spoiler:
the UTCr Liberty is the newest carrier in the terran fleet. Though the carrier is not bigger than previous designs (being 250m in length) it houses more fighters and weaponry thanks to the compact storage system that allows to assemble and disassemble fighters fast and storage them more efficiently. The smaller hangar allowed the UTCr liberty to carry more weapons into combat, giving it the firepower of the Hyperion in close range. It carries 16 plasma cannons and 2 beam cannons into combat. The Liberty also provides sufficient speed and maneuverability to provide fighters where needed when needed. The ship carries medium armor and shields so it requires escorts to oppose heavy firepower. It can carry 14 deployed wings and 28 disassembled wings , giving overall of 128 fighters.

UTC Rigos

The UTC Rigos is the most advanced Heavy Cruiser in the terran fleet. It was primarily designed to engage enemy capital ships. It has 10 heavy plasma cannons, one torpedo launcher and one prime plasma cannon located in the front of the ship. Significant space from the ship's hull is it's Plasma prime cannon. This weapon is similar in design to the Hyperion's prime cannon though it's slightly weaker. The ship became a well valued unit on the battlefield for it's ability to outrun what it cannot outgun and outgun what it cannot outrun. Ships of this class are usually combined into task groups and sent to clean out heavier foes or other task groups of cruisers. The ship's weak point is it's air defence. Though existent it does not possess sufficient strength to effectively protect the vessel. It is usually escorted by fighters or a light cruiser.

UTI Atlan
Spoiler:
The UTI Atlan Class is the next generation of space stations. Although not as modular as the Bastion the Atlan station provides it's residents with all they need thanks to it's modular interior design. It is also much bigger and better suited for specialized tasks. The station was designed for fleet maintenance but is now also spreading into the civil market. It has 24 docking points and 4 dry docks. The civil market found those quite useful for a fast and effective goods transfer system, making the station a popular trading hub. The station has medium armor and no armament. It is usually surrounded by weapon platforms. This station is already used in several system such as Antares and is expected to replace the Bastion in the future.

UTC Griffon

The UTC Griffon is the heaviest UTN Cruiser. With it's 22 heavy plasma cannons , 2 light BEAM cannons and 2 Spartan 5 Heavy turrets the Griffon has more firepower than a whole frigate battlegroup combined. This power though comes at a cost of speed as the Griffon is significantly slower than other cruisers. This cruiser was primarily designed to repel enemy strike cruisers and even destroyers, but can also perform strike operation with it's flat hull allowing weapons to concentrate forward fire. It still has less forward firepower than the Rigos, the Terran heavy strike cruiser.
The highlight of this model is the Spartan 5 cannon. This cannon actually consists of two cannons - a heavy EMP shield buster capable of inflicting heavy damage to shields and shut them down for a brief period of time and a heavy slug cannon. The EMP cannon temporary disables the shields allowing the slug cannon to bombard the hull. The slug cannon launches highly heated Uranium slugs that cover the enemy hull with small explosions all over the hull on impact. The small explosions create massive pressure on the hull causing an imminent break. The effect of the cannon on most hulls is devastating.
Another disadvantage of this cruiser is it's cost.

Spartan 5 cannon
UTC Epirus
Spoiler:
The UTC Epirus was designed to provide cover against small strike craft. This small cruiser carries an impressive AA armament. It carries 26 AAA beam cannons and 8 advanced heavy flak turrets. The flak turrets on the Epirus were designed to fire highly accurate heavy explosive shells that cause more damage at a higher distance. Although each cannon on this turret fire slower than a standard flak turret an additional cannon was added to the standard two to provide a steady firing rate. In combination with the AAA Beam turrets the Epirus is deadly for fighters even at long range. Designed mainly to engage strike craft the Epirus carries almost no anti-CapShip weaponry with only 2 forward plasma cannons. It also has a weak hull and shielding. The ship can also accelerate to high speeds increasing it's efficiency against strike craft.

TR-5 Legar II

An improvement upon the civil mech design Legar I used for patrolling areas and guarding facilities. The improved model contains front mounted rocket pods to give the mech more firepower. Although fast, manoeuvrable and well armed the Legar II does not have sufficient armor to fight against other mechs and is mostly used against infantry.

The TMB-1 is a mobile outpost deployable from planetary assault ships. It contains 6 massive engines to allow the outpost to land and take off. The outpost is self sufficient and can provide the bare minimum needed for soldiers in field conditions. This outpost is usually accompanied by other dropped facilities and is used as command center. The outpost can take off again ad redeploy if needed. When grounded the engine cores' energy is redirected into the facility itself in order to provide it with energy. For this reason the facility cannot operate while mid-air.

BTW Tiel you might find the new world I uploaded useful ... and there is some random stuff I was experimenting with, too :) (The big stuff won't be a ship but it gave me a nice way of adding detail to big ships without too much pain in the butt )

I was watching how people make planetary forces but I was always against planetary combat, but I say SCREW THIS ! FOR THE SAKE OF LORE HERE IS THE UTF PLANETARY CORPS !

The mech is a bit weird, looks like someone hit it with a sledge hammer. The drop-pod is cool. However, the mobile base is pure awesome! Highly original concept, and looks great!

What texture are you using, that gun barrel thing (is that iron bars or glass panes) is quite a clever trick, which I will now use on my texture pack.

I made em myself :). Its a glass plane because iron bars use part of it's texture for the iron bars' top which causes odd stuff to appear with my edited texture. The glass plane on the other hand has a separate texture for the top and sides allowing me to get rid of this effect. I replaced the glass with leaves because they have similar properties. It is possible to disable coloring on it so that the window frame won't look green but I was too lazy and it looked fine with the green base :) .
