well I have made a fleet of about 50 ships, but it covers about a 700 by 1000 area but I don't know a way of making a picture that big.

So after a few weeks of planning, I have started on a fighter-carrier/dreadnought. Currently, it is bigger than any of my ships in the fleet.

That looks gud. Maybe a Big F**king Gun™ on the upper hull, and shove your hangars in the lower hull?

I'm pretty sure there's one hull, with a gap in the middle for fighters to get in and out of the hangar.
