Ships used by the the E.V.T. Just 2 at the moment, more coming soon. No back story yet either.
UPDATE : Did some greebling on the frigate, added a few guns. Please tell me what you think and how i can improve. Gonna change the tower later.

AH - 9C Class frigate
Spoiler:
The workhorse of the E.V.T Fleet. Can perform a wide variety of roles, including :
Escorting larger ships, such as carriers and freighters
Leading assaults on small planets
Leading separate, smaller attack groups
Engaging other frigates
Rescue missions
Troop transport
Extreme surface bombing
I will be doing other variants of this ship:
AH-9C/B - Troop transport
AH-9C/C - Fast attack, Scouting
AL-3MB Medium bomber
Spoiler:
The main bomber of the fleet.
Designed for regular bombing runs on towns, cities and ships up to around light cruiser size.
Relies on fighters to take out anti fighter/bomber defenses
Often operates in large numbers.

Why are you recommending it all the time ?

Anyway welcome, the frigate you made has potential though I would redo the tower - the tower's base looks odd and maybe I would suggest making it angled from both sides so that it won't look like a stick. Make it so that the transition between the ship and the tower would look more natural. Also I'm amazed you didn't put any guns O.o

I was thinking about doing the greebl thing, I haven't had time yet. I see what you mean about the tower, and I wasn't sure if when the mod is released, guns will have separate models, so there wouldn't be much point in me building some really nice looking guns and then having to destroy them once it is released.

AH man either way your ship probably won't make into the mod , not in this form at least. We build ships for fun :) .

Stickying greeble sounds like a good idea. It's a great resource.

edit: Also, if I could make a suggestion, move the control tower to between the mandibles, or shorten the height of it :)

I thought this was gonna be more like zeppelin, where you can build custom ships in game.

It is.

But take a minute and //count the blocks on your ship. Now tell me how you're going to get that many ingame.

Some refinements are going to have to be made. I forsee everyone will be in a rush to make their ships actually viable expense-wise, but either way this is valuable practice for the actual mod.

The issue you brought up with the guns matters more than the number of blocks, I'd guess. In FC, ships will have engines, life support, sensors, weapons, power, all sorts of things that can't be made in Minecraft currently. Every ship on the forum will have to be adapted to that, and it's unlikely that very many of them will still be practical in-game. Expect to have to redo all your ships to make them actually work with FC. It won't be like Zeppelin in that you can just slap a controller onto any collection of random blocks and fly it away.

Hull materials are going to be different, I'm going to start on various armour blocks, I'm thinking steel and titanium at first, where 3 layers of iron = 2 layers of steel = 1 layer of titanium or something like that, so you are going to have better materials in the actual game than in vanilla minecraft.

Yea and keep in mind before you do the armor blocks first you must decide how armor works and beforehand how weapons work. You can only make textures currently ... I'll help if you need it .
