Thanks :) Ik what you mean about the pillars though, I was having a go at sleeker elven architecture; which is something that I have never really done before, so there were some weird bits in that build. Anyway, since I got member and can now use a bigplot, I have built a castle...by hand. God I miss world edit D: All the houses/keep are interiored , and there is a secret passage from behind the throne leading to some peasants wardrobe in case the keep is sieged. This was origionally meant to be summerhall from GoT; which is why there is a heart tree plonked in the middle of the city. (ik the Targeryans worshiped the 7, but I couldn't be bothered to build a sept; so I made a large tree instead)

Anyway, here it is:

Here is my new binvox ship, no detail as yet; plus I still need to fix that horrible spindly engine section, but here it is. Oh and I forgot to mention, sos about the video quality, I recorded with evolve and its done it at some horrible low res:

Also, here is a better render of my castle, used world downloader so I could use chunky on it.

Why would you binvox something so small?

It looks nice, so I don't really care.

I'm not saying it doesn't look nice, I'm questioning the logic of expending the effort of making a 3d model and then converting it to a ship that could have been made with conventional methods much easier.

I am not actually very good at making this size of ship, i find proportioning quite hard; so by making a 3d model and binvoxing it, i can make it look better. Anyways, all my 3d models are made on google sketchup with .obj exporter, so they take about 5 minutes at most :)

Your castle looks awesome, and the thrusters on your new ship need some work.

Thanks! The thrusters on the new ship have been completely redone btw, I hated them sooooo much; they were one of the things that looked cool in sketchup but were hideous is mc. Here is a pic of the latest version, detail is about 1/2 done, the nose has been shortened and it has new engines.

The thin end :) The engines are almost always at the back of my ships, so you can tell by looking to see where the intakes are :)

Also, it is now finished! Here is a pic, suggestions would be great as I'm not to sure about the way it looks:

What do the engine intakes actually "intake"?
This is a signature.

They are for taking in ice that floats in space, either to spilt into hydrogen and oxygen; the former for the fusion reactor, the latter to breath, or to melt so the crew can drink it. :) I guess that sounds reasonably legit, except they aren't really anything to do with the engines since this is a short range escort, refuels often enough not to need any of these features...unless... They can also redirect plasma from the engines to shoot superheated gases at the enemy. >:D
