It looks pretty cool. The details are fun, and there's a lot of them. However, I think your design might a little too underwhelming compared to the size and the detailing. I hope you end up surprising me on that end though!

Those are supposed to cut a dreadnaught in half, you know...CatsVsNinjas wrote:Those are some massive quad cannonsDr. Mackeroth wrote:I've been taking pride in my work. It took an hour and a half to build this portion of wall, which is 1/50 of the total length of the ship....

By that, I assume you mean that the detailing and size is impressive, but the overall design of the ship isn't? Because I agree. It seems to be my curse not to be able to find good designs for ships.Laserbilly wrote:It looks pretty cool. The details are fun, and there's a lot of them. Have another screenshot, with a bonus history assessment! If anybody can tell me how to crop the image, I'd be glad to here it.
And here's the close up of the new section:

Man, you are just really good at detailing! But why is one side rounded, and the other side flat? I can't conceive of a design where that would be a good idea; where are you going with this?

Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
Well, I'm rethinking my drawn-up plan for my original idea (that I forgot). The section that holds the three lasers is designed to pivot vertically, so it can cut ships in half when delivering a broad-side. This will make the ship wider than in the drawing, but I'll also make it longer, and hopefully much cooler looking.Laserbilly wrote:Man, you are just really good at detailing! Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
sorry for this
i really like the wall and all the other parts
and the detailing is awsome
but ...
maybe it a little too much
with that much detailing it wil be very hard to make a ship

Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
Not really. It's three individual turrets just put in a nice neat row. And considering just one of them can saw a dreadnought in half, having three like that is pretty pointless.Ivan2006 wrote:So this is gonna be a 3-barreled instakill-turret?

It still could be a Strigiforme ship with uber shields...Dr. Mackeroth wrote:Not really. It's three individual turrets just put in a nice neat row. Re: Wings of The Schmetterling
A sort-of update on my intergalactic colony ship (henceforth refereed to as the I.C.E.S.S). This is the Icarus-class defense and communications satellite. it has massive power generation to power its main weapon, which is similar to the super-lasers on the ship itself. The I.C.E.S.S holds 24 of them in its seed-pods. Also, it folds up for storage. It uses quantum entanglement to communicate instantly with the I.C.E.S.S or other Alteran ships. It also comes with small habitation modules, and powerful-gravity manipulating thrusters. And no, they're not solar panels (at least not in the typical sense).
Unfortunately, the simplicity of the design, the lack of any steps/half blocks (so it can be turned on its side easily) and the lack of any solid walls/depth to it has limited my design capabilities.
