It's only the capital ships that are ridiculously large. The battleships through the frigates are good sizesCommander Error wrote:The actual Nyx is the better part of 3-4km long. That might be a challenge for you, billy?
Or just build another Eve ship, they're all huge (excepting frigates. Those are comparatively tiny.)

Thrasher (Minmatar destroyer) is 286 meters long. The Rifter is something like 80-ish, the Cormorant (Caldari dessy) is roughly 250. They're not massive, but they're big.

Re: Terran Trade Confederation
Wait, what?
80m for a ship?
That is almost ridiculously... small for a realistic space ship.
Considering RL naval corvettes are about that size and considering the highly increased ammount of stuff required in space that´s very small.
I´d call it a gunboat or something if I were to judge, but again, I have no Idea of EVE online and the tech level they are using...

Remember, Ivan, that the sea-navy is only limited to materials available and how much will float. Space is limited to what you can drag up there.

Depends on how you get your materials.
I heard EVE has a lot of focus on asteroid mining.

Hmm... Incredible ships on this thread. I honestly doubt my spacecraft will ever achieve this level of size and quality.

Laserbilly! I challenge thee. Using this source photo:

Build a Rifter-class Frigate. Probably the most common ship in EvE.

Now, that's a lot more of a reasonable request! Challenge accepted! Though, I'm pretty sure that I don't have the same color palette as the source photo and I might end up making it as much as twice as long as it should be.... Oh well, looks like fun!Commander Error wrote:Laserbilly! I challenge thee. Using this source photo:

Re: Terran Trade Confederation
Cool! And considering the Rifter is (originally) 80 meters (Unless I mis-read that), going up to 160 blocks long isn't actually all that huge.
Re: Terran Trade Confederation
I think the Rifter is the most common combat frigate in the eve universe, often used as a tackler (A ship that holds down other ships so the big ships can tear apart the other big ships with their big guns) and an anti-frigate and drone escort in many small fleets, even non Minmatar capsulears use this ship. It is a fast not quite as armored frigate the equivalent of the Gallente Incursus, The Amarr Punisher, and the Caldari Merlin, All of which are renowned combat vessels. Also when you do the Rifter I encourage you to make the respected weapons, 2 missile launchers and 2 projectile cannons. Anyhow, I myself like the Rifter, it is arguably the best T1 combat frigate available.Commander Error wrote:Cool! Re: Terran Trade Confederation
It's strength is the versatility. It can tank (a little), tackle, 1v1, and is very adaptable. Arguably, as you say, the best T1 frigate out there.

Just do me one favor when you come to build that: make the front engine-things smaller than in the picture, they're just ridiculous.
This is a signature.
