Finished the giant goth cucumber of DOOM (not really i need to invent some new weapons for the doom bit) since the gothic cucumber doesnt sound very menacing, if anyone has a name for it that would be great

Re: The Slyth Dominion
Added the Narcist Light freighter, i think it looks a bit squat but ive never really tried to add a giant box to a ship before and get it to look sleek. At some point i will go back and do the detail on it but at the moment i am leaving it as it is as it is driving me insane trying to get it to look good.

The shape of the freighter is alright but the engine parts are a bit bland.
Anything can be learnt, it is simply how willing you are to learn.

MrTargareyan wrote:40k... I used to play that game quite a bit but never really liked the imperium, more of a dark eldar sorta person. I like the imperium ships but am not quite sure about how to modify them to make them less grand, hmm it will be interesting to see what my 40k inspired ship will look like, hopefully I won't fail to badly. Any suggestions on toning down the imperial 40k ships would be greatDr. Mackeroth wrote: No. You don't need the Redpower blocks. One can build fine looking ships without them, so why fix what isn't broken? For steampunk inspiration, look to Warhammer 40k.
I'm Necron. Necron all the way.
Anyway, the ships are pretty fancy, I think the best way to tone them down is to make them smaller, and use less gold.

Well, you're getting better. The ships still don't look steam-punk though.

Re: The Slyth Dominion
Yeah, with the steam punk style idea I decided that I just wasn't going to do it, I did try on a few never uploaded ships (mainly never uploaded because they were awful) but my natural instinct is to build a (sort of) sleek ships but unfortunately me+sleek (ish)+steam punk = EPIC FAIL so I decided just to try and give everything a vaguely archaic feel, then I didn't do that either very well so I just try to make it look like a unified force as best I can, which mainly due to the fact that everything is the same colour, it does reasonably well....sort of... I really need to try and build a bigger ship though, many help would be usefulDr. Mackeroth wrote:Well, you're getting better. The ships still don't look steam-punk though.

I like the new ship. But, please, give up on the steampunk. Your ships need to be sleek, black-and white things of beauty. If I were you, I'd change the booster engines on the sides of your ship into (larger) shield-like fins along the side.

Re: The Slyth Dominion
Yeah, i know, that ship wasnt meant to be steampunky. I am just in the process of trying to modify the glimmar steampunk texture pack, i only realy want the wool textures but im not to good at art so it might take a while. about the "booster engines" on the new ship, i do need to change them but there not booster engines they are meant to be guns I might try to combine the wool textures with a star trek texture pack? then i could use the consoles from the trek pack instead of command blocks and crafting tables.Dr. Mackeroth wrote:I like the new ship.
