That's a stained glass window, what you have is a blue-ish glass with a blue-ish metal.

I build the essential systems into my ships, if not the living quarters...Dr. Mackeroth wrote:Unlike you lot, I build my ships to work. I know that the power and mechanics of giant weapons are too large for certain sized ships to handle. If you decide to build realistic interiors for your vessels, then I will listen to your stats. Until then, they are meaningless. Same goes for most of you.Avenger_7 wrote:The amount of firepower on mine will probably not be allowed in FC. The thing has 10 weapons that would be the main gun of a normal dreadnought, and another weapon I'm building that's just ridiculous. Also has a couple hundred turrets. I'll post it if I ever finish it :PDr. Mackeroth wrote: Not as OP as the Banhammer.
Sorry for partially derailing your topic, Billy.

Re: Terran Trade Confederation
I still think this particular BSG ship is a waste of your considerable talent. You are an excellent ship builder, however you have faithfully reproduced a copy of what is one of the ugliest ships I've seen. And not ugly-beautiful like some of the other BSG ships, and many of your ships, but just ugly. The one narrow, over-tall engine section is one problem, and the fact the carrier-pods join onto the top of the hull is another. Next ship you build, make sure it has a sensible design before you spend countless hours on it.
Okay, that's the third time I've tried to say that. Did I get right this time? Did I get the message across without being too rude?

Spoiler:
Also, I have a few reasons for building this ship. First, I chose to build this particular model because it was the perfect size; it is somewhere between 900-1000 meters long, 400 or so meters wide, and (I'm not making this up) the engine is 251 meters tall. Second, because it isn't too big, I thought it would be a good introduction into dreadnaughts for me. Third, the Protector uses a lot of the same ship parts as both the Tiger and the Columbia classes, so I won't have to reinvent the wheel when I build them. Finally, I've already spent several dozen hours on this ship, and there's no way I'm not going to finish it! Barring tragedy, of course.

Well, I hope the rest of the build goes well, I look forward to seeing your first dreadnought, regardless of my personal opinions on the design of the ship.

I spent way too much time playing hardcore on a large biomes map this weekend. A huge waste of time, but a lot of fun! Here's where I ended up:

I built everything, but also used a mod that puts a certain number of blocks down in a row; depending on how many blocks you have in your inventory.

It's a really cool mod, and I use it for my shipbuilding, too.

I've taken another break from the Protector (big surprise), to play around with another project. I feel ready enough to show you progress with it.
I've made up another race: the Lusians, hailing from their homeworld, Lusus. Lusus is a very dense planet, and has a much higher than average local gravity. Because of this, the Lusians are a short, stout race of hearty miners, with an average life-span of 250 standard years. Because of their short stature, Lusian ships are a bit below average in size; with frigates averaging around 100 meters long and their largest cruisers measuring up to 300 meters.
Here is their basic frigate:

I like it. I like it a lot. The fact that you can build something that looks so different is a mark of a true builder.
