Weather

This is mainly a question at Fr0st:
As we are doing cubic planets, what possibilities are there for doing weather on planets? Will it have to be global or is regional weather realistically possible?

OH NO SOMEONE MENTIONED THE SHAPE OF PLANETS!

Last time Frost talked about actual spheric planets but I dunno, thats a Q for him.

On topic. I assume we know what that means.

Stay on topic, please. This is weather, not planet shapes.

Spherics? Really? o.O I could've sworn the last discussion turned out in favour for cubes... But anyways, now that we're at it, could you please clarify where we're standing with planet shapes, Fr0stbyte? Remember, non distorted surfaces... hehe...
Wait, ^that's coming from Iv... We had this discussion, I think, didn't we? Nice try, though... (;

Sara you know me, I can argue 1001 things with or against you but I don't lie, as I said last time I remember Frost actually talking enthusiastically about it as he said he got an idea in mind. Best way is to ask Frost about it, go ahead and do it over PM or something because otherwise he doesn’t seem to answer those threads recently.

On topic, I'm in favor of weather influenced by biomes and biome placement that makes sense (maybe even dynamic biomes). Is it possible that we could add simple wind currents and some kind of terrain interaction simulation so we have deserts in the shadows of mountains and things like that?

For weather, we should probably stick pretty close to the normal system. Global rain isn't a problem on 10km planets. Instead, add LAVA RAIN! MWAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH!

Well...
no.
Add hail instead.

Lava hail.

Considering Lava is liquid stone, that would be the same as lava rain.

No, rocks.
Can we stop the geology discussion and get back to weather, please?

Sooo...
No real reason for anything else than global weather, maybe some new weather phenomena on planets that wren't supposed to be very hospitable (we need those).
