Fly to space. How?

I was just thinking. How are we going to fly from planet to space? If planet and space are going to be one world, game will be too complicated and will have lots of lags. So, I have a suggestion. What do you think about space, as new dimension. I mean that when you reach special height(on planet), you will be teleported into space dimension(like in Auris mod, if you will fall off the floating island, you will automatically teleport in Earth dimension).

Well I always said that having them in the same dimension is not necessary but Frost thinks otherwise and he would pretty much do everything to make sure this happens ... And yea that guy just redid the whole MC engine so I wouldn't argue with him ...

You will get in a ship. That ship will take off. With any luck, it will fly upwards. If it fails to fly upwards, respawn and try again. Once the ship has flown upwards enough, it will be in space. You will then be in space.

for as far as i understand

there will be some planets
being cube like rotating things

each with layers obove it that are air
if you reach a special layer you need space engine
if you start those you can proppel yourselve thru actual space [vast emptyness with stuff floating around]
if you use warp drive you will start to speed up when nothing is around you and slow down when something is.
each galaxy[server] has borders that need to be discussed
you can hop from server to server or with a special gate or with a jumpdrive
each ship has 3 axels that you can rotate around gravity is bound to the floor if you have a gravity generator [you would have this in almost all ships]
ships that are close to each other will try to take on alot of the same propperties
like speed [when in warp] height gravity direction
this would also happen with planets making it possible to land
because for your ship earth will eventually stand still because you get the same speed as the planet

corners of planets will have some kind of suckiness but not alot
maybe players have to jump to get there

each planet type is made like a biome

each galaxy that is made by someone has to be checked before adding it to the universe
planets have to stand in a rational order having hot planets close to their sun and cold far away

Step 1: Accquire technology
Step 2: Use technology to build spacecraft
Step 3: Enter spacecraft
Step 4: Start Spacecraft
Step 5a: If spacecraft flies upwards, continue
Step 5b: If spaceship doesn´t fly upwards, reverse to step 2
Step 6a: If spaceship continues to fly upwards until you leave atmosphere, continue
Step 6b: If spaceship stops flying upwards, reverse to step 2
Step 7: Watch the planet below you get smaller and smaller while you admire the beautiful transition between atmosphere and space
Step 8: You are now in space
Step 9: Do whatever you came to do in space
Step 10: Re-enter atmosphere
Step 11a: If your spaceship manages to savely land on the surface of your planet, your mission was successful
Step 11b: If your spaceship break apart during atmosphere re-enter or crashes while trying to land, continue
Step 12: Become a better pilot and return to step 2.

Note: In case of technical failure, you can also reverse to Step 1 instead of Step 2.
