May I ask before you start what is your texture resolution ? As always I suggest 32x32, btw all fc textures must be of the same resolution.

Im making 3 different packs, 16x16, 32x32, and 64x64, Im making them 64x64 and downscaling them by half for each one

Please do consider that FC will use 32x32 textures, so it is most important on how it looks in that resolution.
Consider that when making textures, especially those with small details, like circuitboards or machinery.

And donwgrading it automatically wont work ! It will be blured and loose much more detail. If you want to make 16x16, 32x32 and 64x64 you will have to make them ALL by hand, that is why I suggest you to stick to 32x32 ONLY. Mixing resolutions together wont work either.

Well if it gives a good result why not, just make sure you share some of them to get opinions at least regarding the quality.
