I didn't say "I'm assigning you tasks" because I'm not lead programmer. I said "what tasks would people be interested in?"

If you aren't interested in making the terrain gen, you shouldn't be making terrain gen, so I asked for input on what people would like to do.

Some likely areas:

Metaworlds
Research and Crafting
Terrain Generation and Ores
Entity Vehicles
Shipside weapons
Wiring and computers
Server Transfers
Player weapons and items
Atmosphere Simulation

And there's plenty more.

Well that is jumping the gun Keon, let us complete the Java book first and only then, when we see who is really left in we can begin assigning tasks, BTW the first task for everyone will be blocks anyway, to get used to the environment, that is MC's "Hello World" program.

As I said jumping the gun, pointless to assign tasks now for two reasons - we dont know who stays nor we really know the tasks we truly face. Finally how can you say what you want to do and what you can do without knowing enough about programming to feel if you can pull it off ? Well eventually you all can pull it off yea but at first you need to start with simpler tasks which means you gotta get a feel for it and tasks easy for me wont be easily for you or for Keon lets say.

No ones assigning anything to anyone. As far as I see it, you're misinterpreting.

I'm trying to get a rough idea of the interest levels in each topic. But you do bring up a good point, we will need to start simple. It's possible that we should start by making a smaller mod as a way to get to know how Github and how we work together.

Terrain, computers/wiring, and shipside weapons are my top three preferences, in that order.

That was my plan for the next 3-infinity months, maybe make a mock up of a sub-system or something with a GUI.

I said them, he didn't delete your [quote ] tag, but deleted your stuff. It's an honest mistake, and I thought about correcting him, but I couldn't think of a way to say it that wasn't "Raaaghhkjh Iv didn't say that I did gimmee creeediiit rhharagakljhfads!!!"

But yeah, my words, not Iv's.

I'd like to help, too, but I can't join the skype conversations because of timezones. /:|
I'm in chapter 2 or 3, and I've got some knowledge from lessons at school.
I'll read through the minecraft source code via MCP and whatever documentation I can find.
If you can tell me what I could do to help, I'd be glad to do it.

Keep studying, we're still very early on here.
