First of all the Wiki is a mess. As we have no content or any idea about the content the wiki will only confuse people so for this reason I suggest leaving it alone for now.

As for the OP it obviously needs a renewal but for this we also need some content first. The fighter models are a perfect candidate to show progress is made and so it is a priority. Another thing is the new engine. I know Frost releases demos from time to time. We need to collect them all and put in the OP because hell seeing those ships fly really made me believe the mod is not bogus. Maybe even film another one with a ship ...

Finally we need to get it together and get it together flashy. That means a lot of media and a bit nicer story. Maybe it is also a time to introduce a canon to the mod. This also directs us (INDIRECTLY (lol  ) ) to ideas that should or should not exist as it sets the theme of the mod and so it is easier to see what fits or doesn't fit it.

I agree that the Forum Post needs a re-vamp. The story I think is mostly fine, but could use some editing. I agree we need more media, and a much more definitive plan. I don't remember Fr0stbyte doing more than an experimental release, which was highly unstable and I not something I'd recommend for public use.

The problem with cannon for Futurecraft is that Minecraft has always been about making your own story. The question is: will people enjoy the mod more if it has some story and structure to it, or if it is purist sandbox?

Hey, Skyrim is a relative sandbox. Do what you want , go where you want, yet it has a lore. You are going to limit them anyway by the tools you give them, the lore helps you define those tools and the theme of the mod.

Okay, cease discussion here and post a new topic about Futurecraft lore/story. I think it would go in the Phase 1 section, even though it isn't programming-oriented.

OOO INTRIGUING!

Also, as I've said in the past I could set up a wiki on this site and divide it between casual user-created stuff and actual planned weaponry and tech for the mod. It'd be more than possible to restrict access based on that.

Yea restricted access. Actually it's not a good idea to have user-made content on the wiki at all because as I said it is hard to moderate, high chance to break that canon , to confuse people. to leave irrelevant information, too big stream of information. Wiki was designed for official info and canon, there are other, better ways to deliver the user made content to those who want to know about it (and considering how selfish we are I guess not many would like to know about it either O.o )

I understand where you're coming from, but it'd be simple to just have a portal with a link to the 'unofficial' stuff, and another to actual planned features. Everyone (as in, all forum members) could access the first, while the second would be reserved to dev editing, though regular people could comment on it too.

I agree with Tiel, I think that is probably the best way to run the Wiki.

Yep, restricted access sound good.
Can I be the wiki maintenance guy?
Please? We do need someone for that job, after all.
Just look at the IC²-wiki or even the Buildcraft wiki. (the later is so crap that I highly recommend using the unofficial version)
We don´t want that to happen.

Well, we don't need a wiki now, but when we do you can be in charge.

YAY!
I´d love to do it, even considering it´s propably one of the most annoying jobs there is. (I´m gonna be the one who gets all the complains and noob questions. IDK. I just wanna help, and it´s the only thing I´m actually good at...

Well not rly, probably the easiest job couse the wiki will be locked anyway while the other "unofficial" wiki is simply impossible to manage, it will go wherever it goes and probably nowhere good.

Yeah, but I plan to do the "ask questions to this dude"-job as well, since it goes well with updating the wiki.

OH we are building a call center ? Then put you in and hold you locked there ?
