I have been waiting for this to get fixed since Flan's original tanks release, however very long ago that was. It is ultimately what has prevented me from spending too much time getting my own Flan pack together. Manus is a truly excellent person.

ok, my idea about changing the direction that TMT draws the shapes in worked (and I still cannot believe that I didn't try this earlier) and now the wing connector looks something like this:

also, what I said earlier about a specific connector design not being possible, I lied, you can just turn the draw direction up and have a shape like that.

Well, any knowledge on how to operate techne helps with creating better models, right?
Way to go, I guess this might also be a training for you to make better models for actual FC.

Well I can either type in the shape function into the java file, or use Manus's toolbox to create the shape function, I can do both, but the toolbox is quicker, although t doesn't quite preview the rotations correctly

Edit: the cockpit was done in techne, but the canopy wasn't

Looks more like a cruddy version of the Cylon Raider to me. Can't say I'm in love with that particular style of wing design.

As I said there are countless designs like that, simply because all of those ships take their name from the design of the wings. At a closer look you will discover though that apart from the fact the wings look like hooks that face forward there is nothing in common between my ship and that one (in fact never played PS2 - tried to but it didn't work for me ... long story)

The problem isn't really with the specifics of the design. I'd agree that there are notable differences between in and PS2's. The problem (and this goes for any situation like this, not just this one) is that anyone who *has* played PS2 will hear 'Scythe', look at that, and immediately think of the one in PS2, because even though they aren't the same they're similar enough to a connection between them. The same would be true if it was called a Raider.

never watched/played either of those, and I quite like the wings, futuristic, but within the feel of minecraft.

and I am going to stick with the name, and I'm not bothered if people say the design is similar, i mean the AF-15 looks like a vic viper, and that is obvious to those who've played Gradius, but if it really bothers people that much, I can change it.

also, wings un-derped and tail extended by 50%

Yea that is better, maybe reduce a bit the engine width, don’t forget that in this length of the tail the tubes should also be included, it's more or less the right size so you will need to cut the engine a bit shorter for them to enter. If you still want to change the name scimitar will be a good idea..
