and I think its pretty much done (the model, I haven't started texturing the rest yet):

I don't mean to belittle your modelling skills, but the tail looks derpy.

Define derpy and I can fix it, if it's the colour difference I can't (because that's not the model, that's the texture, I actually can fix that, just after the models fixed)

also I've decided what image I'm going to hide in the texture where you can't see it:

DUN DUN
GUTSMAN!

smaller OFC

EDIT: if I add engines on the backs of the wings, and only have two engines at the back, will that un-derp it?

Hey Proto! I haven't looked through this thread in a few weeks but this looks great! I really like the speeder!

Also, I agree with Tiel, the Scythe's tail is a little off. I think you should widen the chassis and make it octagonal rather than rectangular and move the engines forward so that they're nestled between the ends of the wings.

Also, the cockpit looks great, keep up the good work!

only problem I might have is connecting the cockpit to the fuselage, but then again I need to remember which number the fuselage was.

Increase the distance between the side wings and the cockpit. make the connecting part between the wings and the cockpit angled: Move the side connecting to the wing forwards. Also you can try and make them triangle - making them thinner at the side that connects to the cockpit. To avoid the effect of brick you achieved on the cockpit you can try making it angular the way you can see on my side sketch of the fighter, with the front part lower than the back one. If you want to make the engine detailed make 2-3 long elliptic tubes that go parallel to the ground. Make them stick out of the back similar to the tubes you did but only so slightly. Overall try to go for a thinner profile.

So a bit like this:

I can't do making the side wing connections triangular, I tried it, and the rotation gets all weird, I have to rotate it 90 degrees on one axiom then down by 30 on another, and when I try the second rotation on either axis, it does it really weirdly, I'll show you if I can find a picture.

And by make it thinner, you mean make it horizontally thinner right? Because the original sketches were quite wide.

This is going to mean I have to redo everything but the cockpit, it might take quite a long time.

Well mostly vertically but yes you can go horizontally too. You can separate the wings even more, or try make them longer. Although the cylinders you made are a possibility I mean parallel to the ground - means the gap between them will be in height.

Actually I might be able to do a triangular wing-body connection by changing the direction that turbomodelthingy makes the shape in, but I can't guarantee that it'll work

Ok, come up with some alterations for the design:

A and B are two possible ideas for the wing connections, B can definitely be done, but A I need to look into.

Combining both would be very difficult, and would likely involve the two parts not fitting together nicely, so don't even ask.

C is what I'm going to do the the profile of the fuselage.

D is a design for the thrusters at the back

E is what I'm going to do to the wings, and have a slightly thinner bit on the end sticking out a bit like a fin

Also, I'm going to keep the derby scythe as a back up just in case, but to make the MKII, I'll copy the cockpit from this one into a separate file and work from that, so if you see a UGFScythe mentioned in the pack, that'll just be what I call the source file for the Scythe MKII

re-done the fuselage shape, might add rounding bits on the side.

It might be fine if you implement the engine correctly, so far it looks a bit odd, maybe because it is stripped down of any parts.

Look at the updates @ minecraft-smp.de

Manus coded some awesome stuff for planes, like a button for putting landing gear up and down, and opening doors on your plane or vehicle, and fixed bugs in the mod like tanks spawning with barrels backwards. Manus is essential to Flan's pack, he makes it 100% better.
