Toaster? YES.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
Okay I'll draw a few peregrine weapons and a shotgun, maybe a few others. And a melee weapon would be neat.
Toasters a fine name for it. A spike can be just one long block. Maybe a semi transparent membrane in each gap so its more obviously a heat shield.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
I dunno, knowing how I'd make the rest, I don't think it would quite look as good. I'd rather have it well made, but I need to keep the shield interesting, I really think there's a better way to do it, so I'll experiment a bit with it.
While the spiky shield is certainly interesting (despite questionable practicality), I don't think I'll be able to make it to the same standard as I can make the rest, and that tends to look really bad when a prominent feature is noticably of a lower quality than the rest. I'm thinking of ways to do it though, there may be a chance as of yet.

As for the shotgun, you might want to look at the meltagun from wh40k. "A powerful, short-ranged anti-armour weapon that produces an intense, energetic beam of heat in the tens of thousands of degrees Centigrade." Basically a plasma shotgun.

Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

Also why not try mounting tanks to the arms?

I want both of those suggestions to be sarcastic.

Okay so I spent an hour or two trying to come up with some designs. Really the only fruits were one pretty simple gauss cannon and a shotgun kind of thing that is somewhat heavily influenced by the Hailstorm of Resistance Fall of Man.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
Gauss cannon is good, and shotgun seems fine, might alter it slightly when I make it but should be fine as it is.

That looks almost more complicated than spikes. I've drawn some simpler versions.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
actually less complicated, problem with spikes is making everything line up if you want webbing in between.

You could just texture a panel in the middle of the spikes, it wouldn't actually have to connect to the spokes for the illusion of a membrane. As long as it doesn't look completely off.

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
Would the spikes just stick out horizontally? Because then that's a possibility? Or do they sweep back?

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
Having them swept back just a little would look much better IMO, but its not imperative. You could have it so that the top three are aligned along one plane that's tilted relative to the gun's axis

Re: FC content pack flan's [SUPERTHREADNAUGHT]
The trouble comes with sweeping them back. I could always try both, and have the other as an optional attachment.
