Also regarding vehicles, I think I'm going to do a warm up or two before I attempt the Atlas (also gives time to straighten the design out).

Now I was going to do this little walker mech thing, but I have since decided "fuck that".

I'll whip up one or two cockpit designs for it a little later. The feet need to be scaled up a little on the V-2 blockier leg version.

Just been going over the design, a few changes I feel are necessary, mainly the cockpit because having it super pointy is a bad idea model wise, so I've just flattened the front.

And I'm also going to re-jig the arms to use the variable weapons system I stuck on the Fafnir, except this will actually have arms, and the rotation will occur at the elbows where the arms/weapons will be located.


Also those fucking eye things..., made vertical rather than horizontal.

Cockpit will be closed, you won't be able to see in but you can see out.

This basically looks like the big brother of the Omega, and at my guess will stand at just over half Fafnir's height.

In other news it's been a while since I did something to this calibre, might do a quick warm up, probably a KTM RC8 (because I am not good enough to do the SuperDuke justice) . Or I might just wing it and restart if I * up.

Sorry for the delay, I've been busy with school the past week and haven't had time to visit the forums.

The arms really shouldn't be that long or square because the proportions are already thrown off by the angles of the new leg design. If it's made more square, it'll look too bulky and much less fluid and agile. The poly does need to be toned down for MC modeling, but I think keeping as close to the original torso and arm design as possible would be best for the look. The arms really don't need to be much more than an angled rectangular prism. As for the cockpit, I noticed that the visibility for the other two mechs was pretty low and obstructed while in first person, I think I can design one that won't be too difficult to model but will preserve both the pilot visibility and the overall look. I could probably get rid of the complex polys and replace the current torso with a more MC-friendly design while I'm at it.

Cats, you got any more designs for the arms/head? I still need to make the rest of the guns so I'm not pressed for time but I'd like to know what I'm doing.

Also, thinking on making a semi-futuristic fighter, something like the VF-1 (without mech capabilities), people have been asking for more near future stuff to bridge the gap. I'd like to use the Crone but it's more far future.

Yeah, I'll whip up a few cockpit designs and some more guns when I get home. I've had a busy week so I've had to put everything FC on the back burner. I have a few fighter designs if you want to take a look:

I like the design in that second image, I'll see if I can scale it down to fighter size.

As for weapons I've got the original laser series covered, but I think I'll re-do the rail guns too, but I might actually base them on their icons.

I also want to do the Crone at some point.
