It happened again. I had just reconstructed what was lost and I zoomed out to take a better look...but then, somehow the mousewheel made the ENTIRE model thin as a twig.
This is really starting to get annoying.

How do you fix texture coordinates, by the way? I remember doing it back in the summer, but I can't seem to find an option to manipulate the uvs.

After an hour, this is what I got
Pretty basic, but like you said Proto, "now I know"
The concept behind it is the driver goes through the back and enters the cockpit at the base, and then fires the cannons ontop from the relative safety of .6 inch armor plating. I've prefixed all the boxes involving the guns with "turret" inside techne, not sure if this helps any if you go to code it.
Here are the files. There's the TCN, a .java, and a UVmap for texturing (I polished it up a bit, still pretty messy). I'll probably work on something of an ATV next

So, I looked at the AR-12 again, and I'd like to take another shot at explaining what's wrong with it, this time with pictures.
If you want a fairly good explanation, here's a chat I had with Tiel where I tried to explain.
Basically, the cockpit canopy here is a box. The player is inside that box. That's bad. It doesn't work; you can't see it.

Yeah to get something that you can see from inside the cockpit, you have to make an inside out copy of the canopy, then texture that, then you will be able to see it from inside.
I didn't know that this could be done when I was making the AR-12, it was only when I accidentally made half the A-144 inside out that I realised that this could be done.
And Tiel, that turret looks pretty good for a first go, I'll see what I can do about making it work.

cool turret Tiel and that fighter looks pretty awesome, Jedi. I can't wait for this mod... which will take as long to make as the avatar movies, but hell, they're turning out pretty good.
