if the biggest part of this mod will be in space
it will be natural to give them free simple ships

you dont respawn as a baby normally so why do you spawn as a newborn in space

You've spawned as a baby occasionally? xD

Look at it like this. If you die in full diamond armor, do you respawn with some leather armor to make up for it? If no (and given that you've spawned as a baby that's not necessarily the answer xD), you shouldn't spawn with a brand-new spaceship. You're supposed to start FC by playing MC fairly normally until you can build a ship. Obviously if you die in an already developed world, you can probably walk from spawn right into your hangar and take off in Ship #2, but you shouldn't ever get anything (and never, NEVER something and complicated and valuable as a spaceship) for free.

This isn't EVE. Gameplay doesn't start and end in a spaceship, so there is no reason to treat having a spaceship as the lowest common denominator. Just treat it like any other property in Minecraft and it should be fine.

Exactly. We don't need to force anyone to go through a tutorial, that'll drive more away than the overcomplication. No one person will know all of futurecraft, even the devs [probably] won't be able to memorize every recipe. It would be nice to have certain fields that a player can go into, and that be his/her career in FC. Nothing set in stone, just kind of suggested by the way the game is set up.

no i think there should be some sort of tutorial
but he suggested a tutortial you can choose
im for a
tutorial that you have to do to get the basic stuff

and i really support my city idea because it wil instantly protect newspawned players
and because we would have a free space [space in room to build] and recource lack
that would be the best idea for people without spaceships

because all other citys would be in constant threat of being nuked
and newly spawned dont like that

Well, if you choose a half-decent faction to join, then they'll have built a city on their spawn with a big sign that says "TUTORIALS HERE" pointing to an academy. There should also usually be someone on the server to help if any nubs show up asking for help.

and almost nobody is going to do that
because it takes time
it is often confusing [esspecially if each separate server/faction is responsible for this]
and i do but other people dont want that everyone has to join a faction thats been stated very clear i think

and almost no one has fun if nubs keep asking him/her everything because that will happen

The server-faction thing has always been, and is probably not going to change. I would like if buildings and cities were a necessity, because they make the game a lot more interesting and realistic. What better place to put a city than your own spawn?

I think we have concluded that shut up.
Spoiler:
Fore reelz, there's not really any way to prevent it without restrictive, forced game mechanics.

The question now is mostly, is forced game mechanics better or worse than recreating the wasteland from Mad Max?

thru an underground tunnel system in which they learn everything
Like the instruction book that Keon suggested, nobody will pay attention to signs in a tunnel system. They should learn from experience. They could be assigned a small job in the city you described, and earn promotions over the course of a few hours. Eventually they will have a chance to conduct business transactions on a space station, which is where they could get their very first experience in flying... flying a shuttle to a station and docking. From there it can progress to harder and harder tasks until they are ready to either join a faction or become a lone wolf. The entire "job/tutorial phase would, of course, be npc driven.

thats exactley what i was suggesting
with the tunnel system i ment flying thru the underground
so when they get to space they can immideatley go their own way
but your idea is better

restate it and i will nominate it

the main spawn city should probably be a no nuke zone XD however, like my reply to your previous idea, players should learn from experience, so it wouldnt be 100% pvp free. players can punch other players, but then they would be chased down by the npc police and fined, like you said.
