Well, the people of the Universal Eletricity mod is doing something very good. Even now with the "Galactic craft" mod being developed.

I know that joy said this before but how about we talk with then? they already maked the energy thing [Atomic science and etc]

A thing with missiles and weapons and radars [ICBM]

Manufacture [conveyor belts and such]

and shields [modular shield thingy]

Just an idea,thought

UE is an API. Most of the mods for it are being made by the creator, Calcavia (or something like that) but I don't think all of them are. They're not one giant mod as far as I'm aware. We'd have to talk to a bunch of people.

Im not a specialist but i think that "the people of the UE" can be a valuble asset.

I think that they proved with their respective mods, with quality and all that

Why we cant go there and call then to join us? Think about it: The guy that worked in the Atomic Science working in our energy and reactor system

The guy of th ICBM working in rocket-pods,direct energy weapons,Automatic AA guns and things like that?

Or the ones of Computer Craft ! Working in creating computer system for us ! they have scripting mechanics for mechs and gps and all that.

Im just very..imaginative about how we can help this going for the future, you know?

You don´t det it, do you?
It´s an API.
That means, it is a system other people can base their mods on to get a unified energy system.
And if we copy that stuff from other mods, we´ll be framed as fakers.
There is no reason to ask them.
Missiles, nuclear reactors, a computer system and shields. And stuff.
Also, they have more then enought o do with maintaining and updating their own mods.
No reason to bother them in the first place.
The amazing things UE has are mostly not that difficult to do from what I understand, they´re just a lot of work and many people are too lazy to out it into their mods.

If we are going to ask anyone to help us, we should be asking blakmajic, the dude who made zeppelin mod, so far that is the closest thing to future craft, but it isn't updated, and I think Blakmajic has given up on it

Agreed...

Danmit,i understand the "fakers" thing,i was just thinking that the mods can fit perfectly in the futurecraft by: Adaption or we ourselves rewrite this

blakmajic is dead,i think...shi* happens

We don't want their code. We can do it better, and it'll all have to be coded to fit specifically with Copernicus anyways.

The Zeppelin mod was a dead end method-wise, and the decision to force the client-server dichotomy is what killed it. If anything, our ships are closer to physics craft.

It might be interesting to integrate the work computercraft did for lua scripting, but I'm pretty sure it is mostly interfaces to native code, rather than anything particularly groundbreaking.

I've not heard of these other APIs, but if they are content-based, they may end up being more work to adapt than doing it from scratch. There are some very nice mods out there that would be nice to incorporate, but we won't often have that luxury because the things we are trying to do are going to leave most mods incompatible.

Rule of thumb: ideas are fine. Code or coding support is not.
