Mining and crafting have always been major parts of Minecraft.

We're adding science fiction elements, with all the features and trappings of the genre, but at its heart, it should still be Minecraft. Not EVE or 40K or SoaSE. In Minecraft, people could always make whatever their imagination allowed, and we are giving them even more freedom.
Some people still want to play Minecraft, so our job now is to ensure that that sort of gameplay is not going to be ruined by the other elements we are adding.

Mailbox system?
GUI Faction control by the faction leader?
Exchange? (the financial thing that decides how much stuff is worth)

Financials make sense because they again build money for war but mailbox ? Are you planning to sit all day in front of it waiting for a package ? If you are about delivery jobs then it's again making money and is also a good way to vary gameplay. Basically we can divide the mod into everyday activities (preparation for war) and the war itself. If you make enough varied ways of making money you will add a solid civil aspect of the game.

I thought of the mailbox system as something one can access from his/her [esc]-menu to check for news regarding the faction, or PMs that can be sent also when the target player is not currently online. Like many MMOs have.
A delivery system would also be cool, considering the fact that stuff will need to be transported.

Also, I think I´m gonna make an extra topic for the exchange system.

i think you should add clothes because that enhances the everyday future feel for people without future skins
public transport
10 more kinds of food
more kinds of music
something to make music by yourself
television [give people the possibitlity to record something and have tv's the possibility to look at all these diffrent channels
more healthcare thus more things for healing and more wounds
galaxy wide police
home renting
exercising [having something to exercise]

I wouldn't mind clothes but they should be more customizable not strictly future.
I'm pretty sure transports a give in.

I could see this happening and I could see this going badly, it isn't so much a feature as it is a possibility that could off-shoot

The 2 parts with "mod for that we could use" are not in our interest.
Our devs seem to want to do all the stuff by themselves, even going so far as to no use an energy system we got permission to use.
Don´t expect them to ask anyone about possible incorporation of their mods into FC. Wouldn´t even work, as we don´t use Forge.
In case you meant "use them alongside FC", no- compatibility issues.

Regardless of that, they are small mods, it shouldn't be too difficult to ask to borrow code (at least from the music one, but CCTV is a lag-storm anyways) or recode after we have got some solid features in. Those two certainly aren't urgent features, but he is right they would be nice to have.

Well music will defo be hard to make couse we lack people who can do that so this falls off.

A TV system can be useful , not a real one (And not like the one you suggested) but more like text with looping image that is related to the topic that shows up with it. The text will have updates on the dynamics of the Servers - Big pirate activity, demand or low prices on resources (goes with the financial stuff), if you choose my gameplay scheme info on captured systems or released systems from the villain or alien control, systems under siege or military organized operations on recapturing a system. Also addition of new technology or guns, new space stations and newly discovered systems (Stuff added on content updates) can be announced in the news system.

About arenas it is possible to hold entertainment stations which will serve as PvP hubs. There ship owners can do PvP with their ships on different rules and the crowd can put bets and enjoy the show. During a PvP match damage done to your ship is automatically fixed afterwards. You get more money for winning and less for loosing. There can be different rules such as human crew only - man with your friends one ship and fight against another fully player-operated ship. Fun for the whole family while still allowing loners who don't have friends playing this game play it. Fighter arenas are also possible, lastly free for all and team dethmatch are also possible. The amount of game modes depends on the amount of players interested in playing, so that to make sure the que for a game is not too long. The less people play the less game modes can be supported simultaneously.

Would these be run by real people (most likely the admins), or just a menu when you roll up to the area?

Also, instead of loads of entertainment stations, just have one big one. Finally, would it be in a black market kind of position, or a legalised tv show? (Or both: Rachtet and Clank: Gladiator)

The point in having many stations is to give you a real location while you are in the PvP hub, but all those stations teleport you into the same hub so that finding a game and watching them would be easier for the public. Those are not ran by anyone because it is just a way to give lore to the standard PvP experience. Same goes for TV.
