Solar Server Systems

Post by TinkerPox » Mon Jan 28, 2013 8:36 pm

Would servers have planets in a solar system or something different. Like would they have random type of worlds? like gas, jungle, ice, desert, but in order in range of tempeture and distance from the sun? Also would there be moons and sometimes you wouldn`t get ice worlds sometimes all random yet using logic?

*Planetary system

And yes. Each server will be responsible for one system. The system will have one spawn-planet (where everyone first spawns) and a random amount of other large bodies (probably about four, excluding satellites). There'll be rocky planets, gas planets, ice planets, fried planets, boiled planets, planet cocktail, planet gumbo, pineapple planets, lemon planets, stew planets, sandwich planets... That's. That's about it.

It would be nice to see some realistic distribution of biomes, since our planets are finite and we can do that.

Carbon worlds would be boss like in Avatar and wear gas masks, or a VERY high oxygen pressure

Carbon world? You mean like giant diamonz and graphite forests? That would be interesting.

What about the graphics of gas giants? We could have semitransparent air blocks, like I suggested in my gas mining idea, or we could just have colored fog.

I like the idea of realistic biome distribution, along with more realistic biomes.

omg yes, suck out the atmosphere, *kills everything* plants tree like a boss, and you should be able to make planets breathable by a slow costly process like in aliens

I'm going to go ahead and nip this idea in the bud. No planet-wide climate change. Most of the planet isn't resident in memory, and it is too hard to calculate.

"Change" is the operative word here. Whatever we set the first time is what it will continue to be.

But at the caps it would be cold, also will there be jungle moons and stuff like that?

The climate can vary by region. You just won't be able to terraform the atmosphere to something else.

Single biome planets would not be difficult.

Frost is being reasonable. Don't try to convince him otherwise.
