i have a question wich can have an simple answer
from the start of the topic it was about carriers
i have noticed that a lot of the fighters on the ships were held up with.... claws
how does that work i think you should have something implemented that with a simple button the claw releases
with redstone or something like that
because otherwise we have all these fighters with nowhere to put them

We don´t need redstone.
Make redstone go away.
We have the computer era.
By the time you wioll be able to build spaceships, you should also be able to make a computer capable of operating your hangar.

I think the hangar claw think is kinda odd anyway, though. ImpStars do that, but I can't think of any other ships off the top of my head that do, other than ones with droid fighters. I think in most hangars you'll just land the planes.

By 'ships picking up tanks with claws' I assume you mean the LAAT/c's that deploy AT-TEs in Ep.2. They have no claws; those are electromagnets. I don't know where 'claws picking up the ships' is. Although there are claws in Star Wars, as I said in my earlier post, they are certainly not normal, and I can only think of one ship (ImpStar) that launches manned fighters from racks, which I think is more what you're getting at with claws in the hangar.joykler wrote:starwars

Claws with electromagnets attached, yes. But that depends on your definition of claw, be it simply an appendage or having to be an appendage with further attachments. W/e, I doubt claws would work in Minecraft anyhow, at least not in the context of those seen in Star Wars.
That does beg the question, though, of how you'd go about landing in a hangar in a speedy interceptor without becoming a fireball. Maybe a block that drastically slows down entities within a certain radius?

So an arm with an electromagnet, which LAAT/c's have, is not a claw. The gripping appendage of a loadlifter droid is a claw (well, I guess there are lots of kinds of loadlifter droids, but the ones in Ep.3 anyway).
Presumably you have to fly through an atmosphere-containment shield or something so the hangar doesn't depressurize. Once again, we are working at science fiction speeds, not realistic speeds (which could be much faster, or much slower). I think that a shield that slows incoming ships is a good idea, but I still foresee many crashes.
