cryo sleep

i have seen alot of people with cryo bases in there ships
but i think it doesnt have any purpose until now

i have thought of an purpose for this
when board a ship with a cryo base you could walk around and just wait until the ship arrived
but with very large vessels it would be crowded and boring but what if you could also walk into an cryo base and type an command
that would tp you back to spawn now you are registerd as boarded/cryo you cant ener another ship but you could walk around on your homeworld
the leaders of the vessel that you have boarded can enter a code
/ship cryo wake
and then all the players in "cryo" mode would get a message to go back to the vessel
if an cryo base would be destroyed all players in cryo mode would be instantly teleported back this would be unpleasant for them but ok
an player in cryo mode could also enter /cryo wake and they would wake up in the cryo base of their vessel
cryo bases could also require energy or something

this would be an solution for the very large crafts who would need a lot of crew

I´m no dev, but I can already tell you that they´ll disagree.
Just because a player being technically "on 2 places at once" would not fit into FC at all.

Being in two places at once is not needed, and is not a good mechanic.

This has been discussed and decided. Look around on the old forum. The thread was called 'Dem Pods' IIRC.

i have read it and there was nothing decided the topic was just de-railed

and the ideas that came up were very diffrent

i think this would be useful because it would speedup the game in a few ways

one
people dont like waiting minutes on a ship with almost nothing to do
so this way people would be "on"the ship while building farming maintaining their planet

two
people would go on ships and fly away leaving their homeplanet empty
so all new people would arrive on an empty planet thats not very fun

three
this would prevent an wave effect people with ships attack an planet they win or lose if they lose they retreat and start over
if people can work at home while they fly it would make an much more balanced system

What happens if you're killed on a planet while you're on a ship? The whole bit about being in multiple places is ridiculous. If you can't wait for minutes, this is not the game for you.

the inventorys are separate
and if you die you will lose everything just like normal
only now you wake up
and this i have forgot to mention
you could have negative effects after you wake up
like 10 min nausea
and if you wake up under bad surcomstances like the energy to cryo chambers was cut or if you died you have longer nausea an maybe blindness
and you could "download"yourself to an "robot"on the planet

Well, that sounds at least a bit more useful.
Still, my name isn´t Mackeroth...

actually i have thought of something but i think thats too extreme
because i have thought maybe
you could have an "avatar" in the form of an mech

starting with an simple mech with small drill ,gun
and like 6 or 7 high and then you could upgrade it

every one would start with the same or maybe faction dependant
and the mech would have an very elaborate inventory where you could insert weapons diffrent upgrades and eventually you could grow bigger and bigger

and if you went to cryo sleep you would go here
there would be other possiblities to use your mech
but it would be one very usefull part

having mechs walk around and doing dayly labor [mech are not only for fighting maybe they could pick blocks up or something]
plowing the fields lifting engines into ships ,delivering cargo
would make the server look much more lively and futuristic

imagine you spawn and as soon as you walk outside you almost bump into an 20 block high mech carrying an entire ship [then you would be amazed]

these mechs could again also be brought aboard but okey

Please, again, try less poem-like writing style.
It´s difficult to read. Maybe your teacher tells you to use paragraphs, but you definetly use too many.

To be fair, the Ancient has a cryo sleep system where the participants (sleepers?) entered a virtual world, so why not in Minecraft. Still, traveling on a ship should take at most a few hours, and you can always log off and log back on.

I think we need to stay away from the whole Avatar-style brain thingy, it just complicates things.

I think cryo pods should work just like a bed, except a high-tech awesome bed. When you become crew of a ship, you are assigned to a cryo station. When you log off from the FC universe and you're in that ship, you will be in the cryo chamber when you log back in. If you're on a station or planet, you would log out and in as you would in any normal server (unless you entered a cryo chamber before you logged off). If you happen to be on a different ship, you would be displayed in a normal vanilla bed (unless you entered a cryo chamber before log off). When a ship is destroyed, it jettisons the full cryo pods. The pods could also serve other purposes, making long-distance jumps happen faster and such.

My cryo pod ideas go hand-in-hand with my ship assignment and military ideas, which I will not go into right now.

On a separate, ESL note: Joykller, use 'a' instead of 'an' when the next work begins with a consonant ("A tree stands on a hill."). Use 'an' when the next word begins with a vowel ("An apple falls from the tree.")

Ever heard people singing Psalms in a church? Read it like that. On a side note, you are all now unable to read it any other way. C:

I would guess that it's not a problem with how he would write but how his typing works. TL;dr don't hit enter unless you want a new paragraph.

There should always be stuff you could be doing during travel. I assume you don't normally stare out the window of your house at night and wait for daylight before doing anything, so why would you in a ship?
