I'm just saying that if every idea here that is actually in development or in planning was in some shape or form implemented. the mod itself would be 7gb. it would also take a full dev team a couple years to develop and might as well be its own game instead of a minecraft mod. is there any attempt to reign it in a little? In short, what is actually going to be in futurecraft?

Of course there is a an attempt to reign it in. I'll draw up a complete road map of Futurecraft at some stage in the next month or so. There are a few key mod-ideas that I'll be happy with if that's all Futurcraft ever becomes, then everything else is secondary. Essentially: several types of vehicles, an industrial-mod style power system, working ships, various weapons, space, and inter-server travel. Everything else is secondary.

Well, fr0stbyte has been basically re-coding Minecraft and he has made a lot of progress. In March he got a job, and his time to code in his underwear went from a lot to minimal. So for months he really didn't have time to work on it much, he had to "work". Anyway, I think he is getting back into it now, and is reworking Minecraft's engine, and progress is being made.
This is how it has been.

Well considering half the ideas are rubbish anyway, I doubt many of they will be looked at seriously.
That aside, even our primary objectives might be a little too much for fr0st to do on his own, what happened to all the other devs? And are we going to need new devs, for I'm sure there are people who can do this sort of stuff who would happily help, at least in theory.

Nah, it'll be fine. If you'll recall, I only signed on to do engine work. I can totally do that.
Good luck with the rest of the mod, everyone!

I've said before that I could work around just about anything not directly related to ship flight mechanics.

In any case, I'd just like to remind the rest of the team that unless you are directly (and I mean zero degrees of separation) working with ship mechanics, you don't need to wait up for me if there is something you want to do. Ships are going to use the proxy entity model, so it won't be nearly as intrusive as it used to be.
