Didn't I post a comment here before ? Weird O.o , anyway I've already seen similar things in other games like AVA for example (where you can also customize everything from the scope to the grip) but less graphical, there it mostly effect statistics even though I think in AVA you can actually see the attachments.

I was just going to point out that this is exactly how I envisioned the the Futurecraft modular vehicles working.

well graphics wise but again why not take it a step further and actually customize the stats depending on what we construct inside each module.

I'm just waiting for the day when games start simulating equipment malfunctions. Bob chose to increase his fire rate, but he didn't upgrade his receiver. Stove-pipes. Note I have no idea if that is how a gun works.

Scopes, laser sights, sound suppressors, (flashlights?), and camo can all be customized in Far Cry 3

Sort of.
You can buy attachments, but you can't really customize much.
And you can't have more than between 1 and 4 attachments on, depending on the gun.

That's on one gun.
The others are mostly 2 or 3.
