Anyone have the newest Sim City? Been thinking of getting it, but not sure. If we all got it, we could build beautiful wondrous regions. Full of heavy industry.

Already a thread for it, and it was so bad EA had to give everyone who bought it a free game on account of their terribad DRM.

That's about the bugs, not the game. Besides, that's all fixed. I kinda wish I could buy it earlier so that I could get a free game.

Bugs in the game have nothing to do with the game.

I understand it all now.

Precisely. Bugs are entirely outside the game, and do not belong in the same thread as the game.

The fact remains it's a terrible game that no one should subject themselves to. Always-on DRM is a deal-breaker for me, especially after the fiasco at release that proved there's no guarantee they can keep their servers up.

DRM has a purpose; preventing piracy. Its' effectiveness is debatable, but its' goal is a legitimate one. As for always on, that is optional(methinks), and they added plenty of servers. I've yet to hear of any complaints after that incident.

When a DRM prevents customers from accessing the game I think it's safe to say it's purpose is rendered null and void, just like the ethics of the company that spawned it.

When did EA have ethics?

We don't have ethics eiter. We also would probably use DRM. Besides, I legit bought Spore and had no problems.

Exception, not the rule.

Futurecraft won't have DRM. That'd be stupid.

It's a mod anyway so there is nothing to protect. Somehow I feel that this DRM will only make them loose money. Not only the pirates won't buy the game and just move on to another title but also the standard players won't buy the game , maybe out of disappointment, frustration, out of protest or out of fear after the terrible launch news. They should find a better way to do it or they will play the blood price for failure.

I think I'm gonna get it. Peer pressure anyone?
