It will also break compatibility, making you lose your current achievements. This will put an end to my ion ring interplanetary program. I really don't want to have to rebuild all the parts, re-launch them all into orbit, re-assemble them there, and then wait during the very long burn times.

You don't need to rebuild them, just copy the craft file.

They require in-orbit assembly.

But there are several members of the community working to make a save file converter, and if that doesn't happen you can manually copy-paste the data from the old save file to the new one.

EDIT: In theory he could also use HyperEdit.

Greetings from Eve

I wasn't expecting Eve's gravity to be stronger than that of Kerbin. Luckily, I'm happy to announce that my landing procedures performed way higher than expectations and the landing went without problem and a huge margin for error, except that I forgot to retract the solar panels upon atmospheric entry and so the main landing craft will eventually run out of power.
Unfortunately, all three Kerbal pilots were soon after killed in a gravity-related accident while trying to jump up to 20cm they need to to enter the rover.
Luckily, the rover is automated and has a power source.

Command pods that can hold crew produce electricity, so as long as you have a command pod that is able to hold crew (there don't have to be any inside it), you will never be 100% without electricity. I think. They are supposed to.

They don't produce it, they hold it, like a battery.

Greetings from Duna now. I think this ship is pretty much ready to land on any planet. Though I did panic when I triggered the first parachutes and they didn't deploy. I didn't realize I hadn't entered the atmosphere yet.

I guess this and the higher gravity is why you send probes before manned ships. But eh, FOR SCIENCE!

think ill be playing a ton tomorrow. Any mission ideas? My mind is blank... which happens all the time while playing KSP. When my mind is blank in KSP, I usually build missiles and test my aiming skills on my least favorite kerbal, Barwin.

What have you achieved so far in the game?

He killed Barwin.

One thing I tried was to build a mobile missile launcher, on a massive crawler thing. I then moved it as far away as I could, then launched a probe into orbit.

FROM OUTSIDE THE LAUNCH ZONE!

I think I saw something like that on the KSP subreddit.

EDIT: Found it.

I've set up multi-launch Mun and Minmus bases, and have gotten to Duna legitimately. I also built a small space station in Mun orbit. Nothing MAJOR.

Oh, and I have not yet killed Barwin. My aim from 10,000 meters is pitiful. I tried driving a rover with missile launchers up to him but the only thing i accomplished was ripping the rover in two when I fired.

Next thing you should try is a manned landing and return from Laythe. Believe it or not, Laythe was the first non-Mun, non-Minmus body i did a successful manned return from, although only because of a very lucky gravity assist from Tylo on the way home.

If you need to, I can upload the craft I used for... let's say, 'inspirational purposes'.

sure! and... isn't Laythe technically a moon?

1st moon of Jool, yes.
