Мы говорим им, что ракета нуждается в более стойки, чтобы исправить взрыва.

Re: Kerbal Space Program Megathread V1
I actually started playing this. I'm assembling a very large ship in Kerbin's orbit but don't feel like going on because the frame rate drops dramatically when it loads in, and it's not even half assembled.
I also have a knack for building very large, stable and solid rockets. I'll upload some pics and files to this thread later on.
...my first ever rocket was called the Overkill Mk.I, and it went directly to a solar orbit and ran out of fuel. Mission accomplished.

^ Three of the Elysiums' 12+ components awaiting to be assembled in orbit around Kerbin.
Re: Kerbal Space Program Megathread V1
My first lander that got to the Mun didn't have enough fuel to make it back to Kerbin, but enough to get into orbit of the Mun. This shuttle was then dispatched to rescue the crew from their lander and brought back to Kerbin.
Note that the shuttle wasn't built to enter atmosphere or even land so they remained stuck in orbit around Kerbin, awaiting further orders.

The Mun landing crew was then loaded into the new shuttle, the Hexion ( no pictures available yet ) and Hexion V2 and were then sent to Minmus. The landing occured without any problems except for the 44km distance between the two shuttles' landing areas.
Rovers were built and delivered to the Minmus crew. The first were too small and because of the almost inexistant gravity on Minmus, would easily lift off from the ground and lose control, resulting in one kerbal fatality.
A bigger, heavier rover, the Megarover 1, was then built and sent to accomplish what the smaller rovers could not. It also serves as a base.
The Megarover can house 5, but carry ten Kerbals at once. Later version of the Megarover were also equipped with scientific equipment and communication equipment, although only one Megarover is currently in service.

What the hell is the point of that abomination. Too many struts. Needs more ions.

You can't have too many struts !

Angling the engines away from the rear like that reduces efficiency.
Also holy mother of fuck that's huge. On what model Cray are you running this?

Those were merely the engines I used to get the pieces into orbit and docked with each other. It was going to have a massive sail of ion engines and a practically infinite supply of Xenon.

so essantially you´re building a KSP Dreadnaught, is that what you´re saying?

Re: Kerbal Space Program Megathread V1
There won't be any weapons on it, so I don't know if it still classifies as a Dreadnaught. It will basically be a giant interplanetary tow truck that'll carry landers, base modules, SSTOs and fuel anywhere in the system.Ivan2006 wrote:so essantially you´re building a KSP Dreadnaught, is that what you´re saying?

Re: Kerbal Space Program Megathread V1
Hey prototype, would you be as so kind as to show some design specs of that spaceplane you have, a top-down view maybe with the CoG/CoL shown? See, i'm trying to design space-planes so I can land and fly with style, but all of mine keep, erm, spinning out of control once it reaches high altitudes (I.E 15000 M), but are otherwise fine lower.
EDIT: I also just realized the utility of nuclear engines. Hyper-efficiency. Good, good.

Re: Kerbal Space Program Megathread V1
Nuclear engines are not only very weak, but are also STILL nowhere near the efficiency of jet engines. Also, they weigh a lot.
