Has anyone played any of these? My head is spinning, didn't think there were so many, and yet, they all look so similar. :s

We had something about blockade runner here I think ...

Here's what I've discovered.

Blockade Runner is primarily a space based building and combat game at the moment, though it's in Alpha ala ye olde Minecraft; the devs intend to add ground and other caveats later on.

MasterSpace is basically a less user friendly version of Planet Explorers. Graphics are good (gotta love the whole smooth voxel trickery), but there's no tutorial of any description.

I don't know what to make of Scrumpleship. It aims to be a realistic spaceship simulator, heat dissipation and all that jazz.

Starmade looks like it's basically Futurecraft; spaceships and procedurally generated voxel universe. However, it has flat planets, and I don't know how far the developers are in adding features advertised. Multiplayer, for example.

You linked to the wrong Blockade Runner. I fixed it for you.

Starmade doesn't have anything particularly surprising going for it technically, but I would agree it is in the same spirit as Futurecraft and it does look pretty nice.

I played star made a whole ago, and it lagged like hell, although they may have fixed that by now

How good is Blockade Runner?

I bought it, and I'm not too happy with it at the moment. The last build was back in August; apparently the devs are redoing everything from the ground up to make it play nicer with multiplayer, but it isn't much to talk about right now. Build ships. Shoot each other. Repeat. But, like I said, it's sorta like Minecraft back in the day - other features are forthcoming.

After playing all 3 I have to say Star Made is in the most promising stage of development, but it's really, really rough around the edges. The developer's foreign so all the grammar is screwed up ingame, and rubbing one's genitals with sandpaper would be a more enjoyable experience at the moment than playing the tutorial.

All in all, these two are the cream of the crop and worth keeping an eye on, though I'd be hard pressed to call them worthy of paying money for right now, especially when you can play them free.

I've played Blockade Runner but Scrumble Ship looks really fun. The trailer didnt tell me much though. Just checked out Blockade Runner again for the first time in a year. Theyve changed and added so much...

I've played blockade runner, the rest seem like Minecraft clones. Atleast Blockade runner has higher res textures.

It doesn't look good at all though, the poor lighting and the color scheme make it look worse than Minecraft.

Minecraft has the best crappy art style ever.

I think that the Guys from the Star Made are making a very good work when talking about ships, systems and space battle minecraft style.

They will add planets and atmosphere in the next update i think.

THe only thing that they dont have is the rest of things that we are planning. If our battle system will be like the ones of them,i will enjoy.

A lot.

I can't imagine they are going to be able to do planets on the scale we are, but it will be interesting to see what they come up with for that.
