You beat me to the thread, *.

-new badguise. And the Snakemen make a reappearance \o/
-new classes: one new, the other four rejigged
-you can now also customize spldier gender and nationality (inb4 XCOMgate)
-melee, so you can pop that 1HP bad guy without using half a mag
-badass flying base (Shen was embezzling materials from XCOM, now we know why)
-you can actually surprise the baddies, instead of their BS 'you see them they move to cover'
-fighting an offensive guerilla war instead of a defensive reactionary one
-motherducking XCOM

Should sum up what we know so far. Also, November 2015, holy crap that's actually preddy soon.

Apparently.

That's actually kinda neat; most sequels to multiple-ending games hold that you win. Nope. In true XCOM spirit and style, you lose, except not.

Also, there's apparently going to be an inventory system - so picking up alien weapons and/or explosives and such is a thing, along with retrieving wounded or dead troopers and/or their gear.

Plus, your flying base is officially named Avenger. Subtle, Firaxis.

Adding FPS elements to something like XCOM? Sounds pretty cool, can't see any downsides.

It's a pretty nice trailer too. Do you recognize the armor?

Whose, XCOM or the human goons'?

If goons, looks almost-not-quite like DUST 514 dropsuits, but other than that, IDK.

XCOM's is rather reminiscent of Destiny's getup. Hoods and swords and all.

XCOM 2: "We didn't run out of ideas and steal half our content from other games, nope, not at all"

Really, though, that could be applied to a lot of games now.

PlanetSide 2: "We ran outta ideas so let's make Battlefield in space."
Half the indie games on the planet: "No ideas here, let's clone Minecraft and put it in space."
A bunch of companies: "Uhhh.... uhhh... let's remake old games. Yeah! That'll work!"

Also, XCOM. Even if it pulls stuff from other games (and in reality, most of the 'new' features are stuff from the original 1994 game that got passed over for Enemy Unknown), it's still XCOM.
