I'm pretty competent at HW2.

You said not to.

I couldn't resist. /troll

(Also, they're hardly an indie dev that vanishes apolgetically after 3 weeks of kickstarting)

However it might turn out to suck and just install fifty viruses on your computer.
Besides, that's not the point, it's the whole concept of preordering. If one can do it, everyone can do it, from Valve to Ubisoft.

The anti-preorder movement was because indie and some larger devs/ publishers were giving out an unfinished product; or just taking the money, developing a buggy, lag-plagued POS, and vanishing.

Honestly? I trust Gearbox and what is essentially Relic enough to preorder a set of games from them. This is my one exception; Homeworld is just that damn good.

If you have a problem, go * at the devs who abuse the preorder concept.

There's no reason to preorder when you can't play it until release anyway.

Reduced price is a reason.

Yeah plus there’s not much you can do to fk up a remaster release (if you want one ofc), its essentially an identical game with better graphics and compatibility with modern comps.

Still though, sales return and if one company gets away with pre-ordering other companies will do the same.

Remasters are exceptions to the rule. Basta.

Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

Preorders are not inherently BAD unless bad companies abuse them.

But good companies using them successfully gives bad companies an excuse to use them.

So, you use your Google-fu to research the companies. Good ones? You can feel safer preordering from. Bad ones? Don't preorder from.

It's not an on/off binary - you can be selective about it.

THE HYPE IS REAL.

New stuff;
-Improved UI on both games.
-All races (Kushan, Taiidan, Hiigaran, Vaygr) available in MP matches
-Much purdy
-New lighting code; ion cannons, frickin' laser beams, and ship engines illuminate stuff around them.
-Depth of field simulation (focussed on currently-viewed object), togglable.
-Voice acting redone, with the original acting.
-Cutscenes redrawn
-Pretty explosions

Pardonnez-moi. Going to squee madly a sec.
