I like the theme but the gameplay seems a bit complex for what it's offering.

If you ever played a source game and an RPG in your life it takes you... about half an hour to get used to it. From then on it's as playable and enjoyable as any other game. You don't even need to know how absolutely everything works, just decide upon what you want to play as, be it light, middle or heavy infantry, psyker, agent, hacker, swordsman, etc. and stick with that role for a while. There are multiple ways to do anything, and every role has use.
