Interplanetary is actually rather meh.
GMod I haven't played but allegedly it's lots of fun.
New Vegas is really awesome but make sure to get the DLCs and play them in order.

Interplanetary is a cool concept, but public multiplayer is kinda empty, it gets boring after a while, Singleplayer isn't yet implemented and I'm not even sure they're seriously working on it anymore tbh.

But would you consider a medieval RTS/city-building game for 7$ from 1998, Knights and Merchants? It has pretty good graphics for being so old and excellent gameplay with pretty good deatil. It was recently officially converted to a Windows-7/8 compatible version and appearently is still being worked on.
and when I talk about detail, I talk about actual resource transport in contrast to "resource pools" like they're common nowadays.
Comperable to any current-day RTS in terms of fun, but the new version seems to have stability issues for multiplayer last I checked.

Gmod, always go for Gmod.

Tell me any other game where you can be a flying bathtub pirate and steal trains.
