Does anyone play this? The tabletop game, I mean. I have started up an Astra Militarum (Imperial Guard) army and an Eldar army. Can't really say which is my favorite yet, as I haven't played very many games with them. Here's what they consist of:
Spoiler:
Astra Militarum:
1 Leman Russ Exterminator (autocannons)
1 Leman Russ Battle Tank
1 Chimera
1 Valkyrie
1 Bullgryn squad
2 Cadian squads
1 Cadian platoon command squad
3 Heavy Weapons Teams (1 lascannon, 2 autocannons)

Eldar:
1 Wave Serpent (bright lances, shuriken cannon)
1 Vyper Jetbike (starcannon)
1 Dire Avengers Squad
24 Guardians (with support platform)
1 Farseer
3 Warlocks

I would play. If I had enough money.

The only thing I can actually hope for would be a sharp decrease in the price of semi-reliable 3d-printers and printing material.

Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

Your best bet would be to look on ebay. Their are plenty of people selling units for cheap.

Considered it in the past. I played Tau in Dawn of War once, because it was cheaper than building a tabletop army. WH40k is the very defenition of pay2win.

I'm certainly interested in trying it, but the problem is indeed money. Sure you can get some for cheap on ebay, but are they good units? Eventually you're going to have to pay up a lot of cash for some units.

Was it titans that sold for like 500$?

$500? A Warhound from forgeworld costs $430 for the body, with weapons going for about $65 each.

No, you'll toss 500 of your $1 Imperial Guardsmen at that. There's a reason they come in groups of fifty.

Whole lotta diddly.

A box of 10 Cadians (Imperial Guard) cost $29. Yes, I agree that it's expensive. On the flipside, aren't all hobbies?

I dunno, MC only cost me about $20 so far.

But real life (ick) hobbies? Normally, yes.

Makerbot is the solution.
Hand painting is the only nonheretical solution.
