I felt like the size difference between the Bengal and the Retribution isn't properly visible in the pic Tell posted, so here to clearify:

It's simpler than I expected. The budget for the exterior is mostly in the small patches of detail thrown in throughout.

Not sure how I feel about that. Could someone take a pic of the inside geometry?

note that is IS highly WIP, this is pretty much a whitebox at this point, I doubt much of it is in its final stages, the primary information we can get out of this model as of now is the scale.

That literally tells no one anything about scale.

No, it doesn't.

No, but the image does.

The smaller ship in the picture (Bengal-class carrier) is roughly 1,000 meters in length. IIRC carries 80something assorted strike craft and enough of its own firepower to be called a battlestar.

Thus, the biggerlad might be put at... 3,200 meters? Best guess?

(No, the model itself provides no scale unless you have another model to compare to.)

Nothing provides any scale unless you can compare it to actual lengths.

It tells you "big ship is bigger", but doesn't tell you how big big ship is.

If you assume the smaller ship to be 1km then that works, but only the chucklefucks actively caring about/throwing money at the game would know that. To an outsider it's meaningless.

you might have missed this feature but it's pretty critical to using blender for doing things other than showcasing

for that reason there literally isn't any latent accuracy in looking at it; the model itself can be shrunk or grown by either the end user or the dev team at any point in time. I realize you just want to show off the models but please don't argue you can judge scale from them. If what Ivan says is true, also, then these are really just eyecandy right now.

SC is pretty much Eye Candy 2: Electric Boogaloo at this point, though.

Thinking about shitting the $45 or whatever for the most basic package of SC.
Still on the fence though, Shit's ungodly expensive for a combat mode and expensive ass models.

Also included: Squadron 42 later this year, access to the Persistent Universe later on, and probably some other goodies.
