Given that my copy of XCOM EU is almost done DLing on Steam, I figgured I would have an FC squad. Post here if you want to be XCOMmunicated.
Also, I will post AARs here:
UFO crash site - success. 1 loss [SGT. Flores].
Team:
Ivan "Brick" Kintobor, Heavy, Team 1iC
Vinyl "Claymore" Scratchovski, Sniper, Team 2iC
Markus "Bonus" Error, Support
Fenway "Viking" Ash, Assault
Deadly "Spider" Middie, Sniper
Amy "Strings" Harris, Support
NOTE: I've decided to not alter the generated nicknames. Because.

Vinyl "Empress" Scratchovski. Don't bother questioning.

I have EW. I did have a FC ROFL-Stomp squad (Classic Ironman). It was slaughtered in a botched missile launch, which set off a car which killed three guys, then the others were swept up by the Sectopod I had just encountered.
0/10 would not use HEAT Heavy with rockets against a Sectopod again.

I wonder what we'd get from autopsies and interrogations we'd get from these owl-like 'Hooters'. Perhaps wing augments? Maybe a warp ability for our MECs? Further improvements to the MEC flamethrowers? Firebreathing augments? Gigantism augments? An upgrade to the Hyperwave Relay that allows for inter-dimensional contact? WHO KNOWS!

In my first XCOM:EU playthrough, I also used FC-members as soldiers.
Mackeroth was the volunteer and Vinyl was both my first female soldier and the last person standing. (she and the volunteer were actually the only ones who made it to the end of the final mission)
Yep, I made Vinyl a woman because Vinyl is female in MLP.

Vinyl is the team 2iC in my playthrough, and, yes, is female. Also squadsight is the best thing ever.
Current team is in the OP. Any other requests for dorfing?

I would like to be the current heavy redshirt.
Make sure Mr. Kintobor looks somewhat like my avatar if possible pls.
One hint for new players: get some upgrades through the officer training school. Especially the squad-size ones. And yes, Squadsight is quite good, but on some maps squadsight snipers just won't be able to score a hit due to too many obstacles.

Ok, I will dorf you later today. Also, given that we still have a redshirt army, I'll train up a few rookies in case anyone else wants a dorfing.

In my experience, I prefer to customize soldiers after they've become at least a squaddie, then after I get that officer school upgrade making every new soldier squaddies, I go from corporal. That's only to help insure against version marking them too often. But, so far so good as no one's died yet! Also, I too am doing FC soldiers, but because I'm a lazy sod I've just styled everyone as Spartans and put helmets on them

On a related note, in my EW Vinyl is a female sniper. What're the odds?

Pretty good, considering you were in the starting squad. I have tutorial off.
Also, Death by Face-Plasma is common enough that I name people right off, because even Colonels might get oneshotted.

At the point you have colonels, you should have armor that reserves one-shots to sectopods.
