I can now back up the flame atronach with an entire pack of spectral wolves and a dremora (Or maybe several dremoras, I'm not sure), so I'm gonna try again. A single dremora beat the crap out of an entire roomful of high-level draugr, including an Overlord, and I think the staff lets me spawn a bunch of them if I want to, so I can probably kill the giant now.

It'll all go well until the dremora becomes a spaceship

So a guy wanders into a room in his previously locked house, sees me standing over the body of his daughter with a bloody dagger in my hand, and lets me walk out without calling the guards. Seems legit.

Totally legit man, I believe you 100%. But might I inquire why you invaded this man's home and murdered his daughter?

Somebody paid me to do it.

The trick to kill a giant is to get him to attack you, charge right at him and get behind his back. He'll start the attack animation, but is going to miss as he can't turn around that quickly, which gives you enough time to land a few hits.
Rinse and repeat, until there's no more water left. That way I used to kill giants with my melee guys, you can also try and block-attack him to make him stumble a little, buying you even more time. Watch your stamina, though. Oh, and be extra careful when facing more than one, it's still possible then but about four times as hard.

Don't tell anybody, but to this day I have a faint hope for Futurecraft, or something similar to it, to happen. Within my lifetime.

Got around to fighting the giant today. I pickpocketed the Blade of Woe off Astrid as soon as I met her (Pickpocketing was the first [and, indeed, still only] skill I got to 100), so a sneak attack should OHK a giant. I snuck around behind the camp and was all ready to do it and a Blood Dragon flew in and flamed both of us. The giant went and got himself killed, and then I had to deal with a dragon instead. This was my first Blood Dragon, and my first fire dragon. The others have all been frost (except maybe the first plot one), so I've been able to use my Flames, but this time I had to use Sparks and Potions of Magicka and Fire Resistance. I've spent most of tonight doing Dark Brotherhood quests, though. The Blade of Woe makes those pretty easy; I don't think I'm supposed to have it for several missions yet. Only one of my targets so far has sometimes failed to die with a single sneak attack, and even he did when I could get it to do the fancy third-person animation thing.

Only skill I've got to 100 is sneak. Could stand right in front of someone and they wouldn't notice me. Used it to instakill a dragon once, Assassin's Blade perk is waaayy OP.

Agreed. I'm working on leveling Smithing for the specific purpose of improving the Blade of Woe until I can OHK the entire game with it. The Dark Brotherhood quests would be hard without it, though.

...I think this is another case where there's been a miscommunication somewhere. I said the Dark Brotherhood quests would be hard without being able to OHK targets by doing 30x damage on a Sneak attack. That is manifestly the case. However, we do have that ability. I don't think anyone here has said that Skyrim is hard.
