Yes, that too. Half of us have Trinity and the other half Rebellion. You're limiting yourself if you get only one. Get both and you can play with everyone.Last_Jedi_Standing wrote:And also because then you'd have Trinity and you could play with me.
I am still planning to get Rebellion at some point, and I know it's been, like, a year now. I always seem to have some other new game to play.

Yes, they should've packaged it in Trinity. 40$ for the same game with visual enhancements and a handful of new units is too much. :3

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire
Ok, I assumed that about rebellion, stand-alone DLC my ass. Anyway, I will probably get just trinity first, then rebellion later, when necessary. I will get trinity this weekend.

Yes hyper, thank you for ruining the joke.

Rebellion is a standalone DLC, you don't need Trinity to run it.

HotS added a whole new campaign, which is what you're supposed to be paying for. SoaSE has no campaign.hyperlite wrote:@ tiel HOTS

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire
Ok, you have to teach me how to play, I don't have the patience for tutorials, they contain some useful things but are so tedious.

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire
SoaSE's tutorials are really short. You should spend maybe a minute or so on the first ones. They're interactive, too, not just a video. I would *extremely* highly advise at least going through the basic ones before you try a real game. If we manage to get a game going on Friday we can be on the same team against an Easy AI or something, so that you can learn how to play and I can give you tips, but you'll need to know how to make ships move and stuff before that can really happen.hyperlite wrote:Ok, you have to teach me how to play, I don't have the patience for tutorials, they contain some useful things but are so tedious.

Ok, I will do the tutorials, sounds fast enough. But for real strategy you need to ask a person.

Re: Sins of a Solar Empire
The difference between Rebellion and HotS is that HotS absolutely REQUIRES you to have previously purchased WoL. You're sitting at a 100$ expense to be able to play HotS, and LotV will probably require you to have both WoL and HotS as well, totalling to 140$ to be able to play LotV alone.Last_Jedi_Standing wrote:HotS added a whole new campaign, which is what you're supposed to be paying for. Rebellion is a stand-alone expansion, which means that for the 40$ only, you can play it, with all the components of the previous expansions present without actually OWNING said previous expansions. If you already own Trinity, then yes, it is quite pricey for a bunch of new textures, some new ships and factions, but that's why you get the 10$ discount. It's still a little more than it should be though.
However, for new players to the franchise, Rebellion's price is excellent since it does not require you to have all three previous titles.
But hey, even for those who bought both Trinity and Rebellion, it only totals to 50$ while SC2 as already at double that price with only one of its two planned expansions. 140$ for what? A few new units you can only use in the single-player campaign and a story that doesn't quite much any sense?
