OH. MY. GOD.

People have been complaining to the devs of PS2 that they want Galaxys to carry tanks for a long time. So... the lead deveoper gave them in answer. In picture form.
Now how would people pay for this? I say it should have a cooldown timer of one week, and should cost 10 cert points every time you use it because it is HUGE. Plus, it should be a spawn point as long as its in the air. Also, I want it to be able to be taken down from the inside, by destroying a generator or something. It's obviously going to have turrets, so imagine how awesome it would be to see this fight another of its own kind. Maybe it can even be captured by the enemy, like it's a flying base owned by individual players. It would be super cool if instead of sitting in it, you could walk around on top and access terminals from it as well. If they want this in the game though, they will have to make the max elevation higher so that it doesnt look supidly close to the ground, as this thing is the length of a warp gate. I would be in heaven if you could drop your tanks from the bottom, at the same time you launch a swarm of Reavers, Mosquitoes, or Scythes. It would also be cool if soldiers could drop pod out of these, as it would be just stupid for them to be able to jump off the edge and expect to live like they were being deployed from a galaxy. These things shouldnt be able to spawn flashes though. WTF would be the point of that? I could go on and on and on. This thing gives me soooo many ideas. Now you might ask, Planetside 2 can handle a ton of fighting, but how will it handle such a massive entity? Well if you look through the upcoming features page on the website, they have ragdoll physics in there so they are obviously working on making the game faster. Now I wouldnt expect this on the list since it only shows what they plan on implementing in the next six months and this thing would take a while to code. Either that, or it was a joke. I don't care though. So awesome.

Wow. you posted pretty fast. Did you read the entire thing? And yes. It is very grey. If they are implemented then I'm sure they will throw on faction colors or something.

this would be cool, but why do we need such a large ship?

If there was a new air vehicle that could transport 4 flashes or 2 lightnings or one MBT, all of your problems should be solved.

...

OMFG.

Apparently this is the TR's 'Capital Ship', though you'll excuse me if I refer to them as Titans since they remind me so much of Battlefield 2142. Anyway, this is gonna be lightly armed and armored; main strength would be the ability to spawn up players and vehicles.

Apparently the VS have something too, the picture says something about a 'Vanu Sovereignty Apocalypse Battlecruiser', so that's gonna be a freaking tank if you take into account the role of the TR's capital ship.

Maybe NC have an assault carrier, a mix between the two?

This is starting to sound like 2142, and I loved that game, this just makes me more angry that I can't run PS2.
[Insert rage here]

It is pretty CPU/GPU intensive.

theyre attempting to make it easier to run on low-end CPU/GPU's

That's a ship, as in naval and not a ship as in aerial. It's carrier for the upcoming naval combat additions, if those are ever implemented.

...or at least I'm quite sure it is.

I think its aerial, I don't see any indication of any naval stuff.

Gotta kill them underwater Light Assaults!!!

But if it is aerial, why are most of its turrets on the top half? Most enemy targets will be located beneath it.

Maybe it's a spaceship and they are merging PS2 with Eve to create an entirely new game...

Oh wait, Dust 514. Opps. Too bad it's on PS3.
