How about a system that allows people to add their own smilies which get approved (or denied) by the moderators?
I know it will spit out a ton of smilies, but that way, we do get a better variety of them.
And people still can disable smilies in their posts.

It's pretty easy to add new smileys. Just pm Tiel with the one you want and he can upload it.

PM fr0st, Mack or Jedi. I finally got around to removing my admin yesterday. I can still promote myself back up if need be in the SQL, but I'd rather prevent that if at all possible.

You'll be hard pressed to find smilies that fit the forum theme, though.

Fit the forum theme ? Let's at least make them less creepy ...

I'm fairly certain you can do it right from the smilies page.

I'll add more smilies if you guys can find any that look reasonable. I may look into adding some of the ones from the MCF or the old forum too, depending on how bored I get.

The old forum ones are also crap ... the MC forum ones are fine but are you sure they will be fine with it ? Naah sure they will .

EDIT: <sigh> Neither the 'Add Multiple Smilies' button nor the 'Import Smilies Package' button lets me just upload smilies and set a code for them, which is what I need to do. Is there an 'Add Individual Smilies' button around here somewhere, by any chance?
