Rules Change: New Members
As you may have noticed, today I handed out the first ban of the forum. It was to a member who has made only two posts, both of which were nothing but insults. I suggest that, in lieu of the sanctions on new members which I had originally suggested, that we simply judge people much more harshly if their first posts are violations of the rules. I gave Gummybear the regulation punishment, but I think it highly unlikely that his goal is to be a productive community member (People who want that don't insult people in their first posts). Specifically, I think that Recruits should receive double or triple the number of points that they would later, as that will provide more of an incentive not to create accounts specifically for trolling.

Re: Rules Change: New Members
I think that our members need to to take matters like this more seriously, because both of you are dispalting a complete lack of civilized behaviour.
I agree with this proposal, but we must distinguish between people not knowing the qi of the forum, and deliberate trolling.

I am fine with this. Moderators are free to use whatever judgement they deem fit when dealing with new accounts. Just make sure to report it in Area 52.

He gave me a creepy look O.o ... Fk that BANBANBANBAN REPORTED !
Just kiddin I won't argue with that one. Just don't enforce post limit because it will really deter new members. People just read the forum and when they want to post something or join the community they create an account and probably want to start posting immediately. If you say "no" to them they either turn away, become lurkers or bump that post like a week after when they finally can post what they wanted.

How do you give someone a creepy look over the internet?
Is it like this?
But yeah, post limits are always dumb and we shouldn't have to resort to that.
