Unless you make your ships more black, I'm afraid not.

Something I found out the hard way the first time around is that ships using primarily iron blocks interfere with your ability to read the text against the background, at least not without serious lighting adjustments.

Tiel, can you swap the background back to what it was, or alternatively edit the transparency panel assets to be more opaque? That lens flare deal makes it really hard to read text.

That's not supposed to be the background. I've nary a clue why the forum insists on reverting to it.

Also, the favicon is messed up..?

Alright, when the cache is purged the forum gets rid of the temporary css files that point to the correct background, and draw from the static files residing in the forum's root directory. What confused me was that even after editing the 'permanent' stylesheets and refreshing the forum's cache once more, the old background remained.

Fixed, at any rate.

Cache refresh did nothing, but I have some other stuff to try.
Favicon looks kind of like an arch with some sort of pale blue field in the center which makes the whole color scheme look a bit too pastelle for my liking. And it also has no transparency around the edges.

The favicon is terrible, I agree. On the school PCs the normal one shows up, but on everything else it looks like that crappy icon. Very odd considering that file isn't anywhere on the FTP.
