There are a couple contrast issues I've identified, and I'd like to increase the opacity of these content blocks if we can. Really hard to read stuff against the background.

Could we make the background user made ships?

Pretty much everything is editable; full FTP access. I did not think the glow at the top right would pose such a problem...

If someone compiles a GOOD wallpaper for the forums that fits the theme with user-created ships, it would be added.

e: Tried to lower the brightness of one region and ended up trashing all the whole image. I'm going to try to render some user-made ships and UL that.

Okay, I ***ked up bad on the background I spent the entire day making >_>

I will try again until there is a desirable result.

May I suggest new rank images ? I can make some, just give me the area I have at my disposal. And the list of ranks. BTW cadet is not exactly a rank, it a title for students in military academies.

I also suggest making the background image and panels darker to contrast better with the text but not too much so it won't hurt the eyes.

Also after adding an avatar just noticed it's bugged :P . Increase the width of the side panel to be more than 200 pixels (the maximum avatar width)

If memory serves, the ranks are:

Recruit
Cadet
Ensign
Lieutenant
Lieutenant Commander
Commander
Captain
Commodore
Admiral
Vice Admiral
Fleet Admiral
Executor

The logic here is that you're a recruit, then a cadet in, as you say, an academy, then one is promoted to Ensign, then an officer...you get the idea. I find it a little more authentic than rising from Marine rank to General. If you want a set of parameters, right click the rank image and 'save image as'. Examining it *should* give you the size you shoot for.

There are actually more than you need. I suggest skipping golden 3 stars and give crossed swords to the admiral and skip the silver double stars and give golden double stars to the executor (??? we need a better name here)

If I had powers I'd change them this instant, but Judge rank is more of a formality if anything. Can't really do much with FTP access either, seeing as the forum software stores a local cache of rank files. I'll include this in the buglog, though, so as soon as Shiva hops on it's likely to be changed.

Actually I see you misuse my ranks a bit :P . Let me make some nice badges for special positions. Could you give me a list here too ?

I know discussion here is a bit dead, but I find the fact that the background ends annoying. Not that I suggest repeating a picture, but perhaps you could make the picture fade into the background colour?
