Hey man look at it this way - if they post in an old thread everyone goes "NEEECROOO" on them and if they post a new thread you come and say "hey there's another thread like it !" , it is really anti-intuitive to search every single topic you make especially when the titles are not matching ( One can title "Cool game I found !" while the other plans to call it "Minecraft thread" ) and for the sake of forum organization I prefer this over Necros.

I'd rather moderators actually do their job and merge the threads when this type of issue emerges. It's not that difficult to search before making a post, at any rate.

As I said unless your search can analyze the contents of a thread there is a good chance it will never find a match.

It is also a thing never done in any other forum and people who join the forums will not search for it and it is them who often do it because they simply weren't here before and couldn't know this thread exists.

It is much easier to prevent necros and frees moderators from unnecessary obligations allowing them to focus on more important things. If you have something important to contribute and you know a thread exists for it why not go ahead, if not it is fine too.

I understand your strive to organize the forum better however posting in old threads more often than not ended on that only post. Starting new threads often brought life back to those old discussions while posting in the old threads rarely achieved as much success.

Finally there are many many threads that are somewhat similar and yet different, a lot of gray areas where you can't determine if this should be posted in the same thread or not. Again the often different titles do not help it either.

All of the later make it problematic to try and collect similar threads together and so I believe that holding those separate threads is a better idea.

You clearly didn't try searching before you posted this. Searching 'starmade' turns up all of those threads, because it doesn't just look at titles.

Like what other things? The moderators on this forum spend the vast majority of their time doing nothing. Not a single point has been issued in the past three months. Lightspeed illegally banned two people, but beyond that nothing has happened.

For the rest of your post, keep in mind that the thread he posted this in had nothing to do with Starmade. It was off topic, in a dead thread (not quite dead enough for it to be a necro, but the discussion was clearly over), on a subject that other threads exist for. This was not a useful contribution to anything.
