How did you extrapolate that?

Use the edit button to avoid doubleposts, joyk.

Well, the gravity would be attached to the entity. When you're inside a ship, that ship would have the gravity orientation. Two separate entities would have two separate gravity well thingies. As long as the entity you're on does not become part of the other, you would stay oriented to that ship.

...Yes you did. The second post answers all of them.

No. There is no up or down in space, because there is no gravity to determine it. Therefore, whatever direction a ship happens to be oriented is 'up'. So if your question is whether or not a ship can rotate completely around any of its axises, the answer is 'yes'. But it won't really be upside down, because it's not upside up to begin with.

Eh.

Would 360 degree rotation be handled by players entering a 'pilot chair' or some other and then right clicking in the desired direction, similar to BSGO? I don't see how it'd really work well otherwise...

What we've discussed before is having a "simple" flight setting you can enable from the main menu, which would auto-orient you with any nearby gravity-well or station. If you want the full experience, you can always turn it off and have a full six degrees of nauseating freedom.

Any 3D radar will work like the positioning system in SOASE, with entities being projected onto a plane with a vertical offset. In simple mode, the plane is fixed to the gravity-well, and in advanced mode it is fixed on your personal orientation. If we end up doing more with fleet logistics, we might have additional options for attaching the radar plane to your fleet leader.

Considering I don't know the rest of what's going on in this topic, or when the last post was, I have to comment on this post. I think there should also be a way to orientate yourself to to other ships, and orientate yourself as an offset (e.g. 120 degrees on the Y-axis). I also don't think it's wise to orientate your radar to another ship, as that makes it more difficult to find any idea of where you are in relation to other objects.

No, the radar is oriented to you. Or to another ship. I'm pretty sure we discussed this at one point or another.

According to Einstein's theory of relativity, the answer is: yes.
